This is my first Hush Puppies purchase. I ordered my usual size and they fit perfectly. When I wore socks, they did feel a bit stiff. When wearing nylons, there were no textural issues. There was more support for the foot on the outer edge (no rolling feet outward) than normal in shoes. The minimal heel did not cause any discomfort.I wore these shoes to a family event, which included walking around paved trails at a park. No foot issues. I did not receive any compliments nor expect them. These are very practical shoes that go easily from dressy venue to casual, but blend in.

I have a number of foot issues, so I need to order wide shoes. Needless to say, it's rare to find anything remotely fashionable, and often, seams dig in, the heels are either too narrow or wide, the toe box inevitably is still too narrow, the shoe is actually not "wide" or they're too wide and your foot falls out. Well not with these gorgeous shoes! These are wonderful and fit terrific.Because the strap is adjustable, there's room to slip in an orthotic or a heel lift if you need one. If you have foot drop, and are looking for a shoe to wear without a brace, this works quite well for short walks. The strap across the top keeps the shoe secure, compared to a ballet flat. I can't say enough positive things about how wonderful these shoes are. They also have very good natural support. I highly recommend!

Soles are hard. My 80 year old feet need more cushion. Every thing was well made. shoes look great; but can't walk in them. Made my feet hurt. These are nice well made leather shoes. But the soles of the shoes are 'hard' to my 80 year old feet. I Need more cushion in bottom of shoes. I need a 8 1/2 size with a closed toe shoe. The toe-box is wide enough (need room to keep little toe from rubbing on next toe) and heals are good fit. Most disappointed. Size 8 was too short.

I think I'm going to love these. I was trying to replace a pair of 7 year old Merrells, in a style Merrell no longer makes but which is very similar to these Hush Puppies, except the Merrell is not as shapely. I shopped around a TON, and ultimately settled on these for their simple, classic look and slightly higher heel than one finds in a mary jane. They are pretty perfect. I tried Taos, Merrell, Clark's, Rockport Cobb, etc., both in stores and online. These are the only ones that met all the criteria (heel, classic look, solid construction, casual but dressy enough, reasonably priced, and COMFORTABLE).I'm normally a size 7 or 7.5, and ordered a 7, trusting all the reviews that said the shoe runs a little big. It fits more like a 7.5 on my feet, which is perfect. I ordered it in a medium width, which is plenty roomy enough, but feels more true to size. I don't have wide feet and almost ordered a narrow, but glad I didn't.They look so cute and immediately felt so comfortable. Very happy with the purchase!

I was required by a manager at my job to wear this particular style of shoes. These shoes were in no way the appropriate attire for someone working my position. I was injured because of these shoes for that reason and that is the only reason my rating is not 5 stars.These shoes are very comfortable, and fit well. I'm not really a fan of this style of shoe, but I wore them everyday for months working backroom retail. They held up very well to heavy wear and tear.The company I worked for had a policy that all employees were expected to abide by a dress code. This required ALL employees to wear dress shoes that had been approved by the manager. This is the style my manager chose. Backroom employees were not exempt from this rule despite having to regularly clime ladders and squeeze through tight cluttered corridors. As was inevitable, the small leather band that goes across the top of these shoes, snagged on a metal fixture and caused me to trip. My knee was seriously injured because of this negligence.Do not wear these shoes if you are planning on doing anything more than walking around. These are dress shoes not work shoes. My old manager was in no way intelligent. Don't be like her.

This shoe is horrible! I had loved a lot of Hush Puppies in the part, the Isis flat ~2000s was an all time favorite. The Epic Mary Jane has no padding under the ball of the foot and the weird, curved foot bed does not allow my toes to touch the ground and forces my weight onto the back half of the ball of my foot like a screwed up pair of high heels. The heel of the shoe falls a little short and slips a bit when I take a step. the high and narrowed arch in the sole seems unnecessary. It's is like someone decided to make a shoe like the rocker from a rocking chair and also manage to make it uncomfortable to take a step in, absolutely nothing anyone could wear all day or walk long distances. I guess I should have coughed up the money for NAOT or another imported brand of shoe. 8( VERY disappointed, will be returning these ASAP.

After one foot surgery, and several injections in the other foot, shoes and comfort are a must! However, I'm embarrassed to wear most brands that advertise dress shoes for people with foot problems. Most look like Frankenstein's shoe maker made them. They are big, ugly, and klunky--and I have had near misses at falling down the stairs with these other brands. BUT, these shoes by Hush Puppies are NOT that way at all. They have a cute design and comfortable fit. Usually, after teaching on my feet all day, I crawl home and change shoes immediately. When I received the Mary Slip-On Loafer, I put them on and taught on my feet all day, came home, made supper, graded papers, played with the dogs, and right before bed realized that I still had them on. I couldn't believe it! I had even left my orthotics on my dresser because the cushioning and arch support built into the shoe did not leave enough room for them. I have worn them a lot since I purchased them and the arch support and cushioning still maintains its shape and support. I am sold! They have a loyal customer in me!

This is the second pair I’ve bought. The first were fantastic and I literally wore them to death over the last few years. So glad they still make them. I’ve tried loads of different black leather Mary Jane style and nothing compares to the fit, comfort and style of these. Super durable too!

These shoes were comfy from the moment I put them on.
