This does not work with a charging cable, and plug-in Carplay is also not an option.
The case feels flimsy, the case stops doing anything if plugged in besides charging the case. Your phone will not charge if in the case and plugged in. You can't use any data transfer while in the case through a cable. This wasn't for me, there might be someone this will work for, I just don’t know who.

Paint on the case chips off within a week.The first one I got was defective and the second one I had only lasted 2 months and won’t get any charge to it.

The Case protects my iPhone very well.

4/3/6 months to failure in intermittent light rain, bought 3, like the functions
When charger is plugged in the case immediately provides charge power to the iPhone, then to the case battery. Other battery cases charge the case battery first or otherwise to not provide the iPhone with charger power immediately. Bought one 2022 Nov failed in 2023 Feb, bought a second in Feb it failed in April, bought a 3rd in April it failed 2023 Aug 18. I thought perhaps the rain had damaged the first 2, but this last one did not get exposed to rain but last week I accidentally dropped the leather belt case with the iPhone in the battery case in the toilet for a couple seconds max and now the case failed like the others, where the batter still indicates a full charge but no charge power is sensed by the iPhone.

Worst Battery Case in the Market
Long story short, the battery case doesn’t charge my iPhone even a complete time even though it’s advertised as 10000mAh. Also after 6 months the internal battery in the case inflated like a balloon. So much for having heat protection as a safety feature. Don’t buy, go for a ginfoxi battery case that actually charges your phone and will have it from 0-50% in half hour.
