TaoTronics Portable Bluetooth Transmitter for TV Wireless Audio Adapter Connected to 3.5mm Audio Receiver, Paired with Bluetooth Headphones, aptX Low Latency, A2DP Stereo Music Transmission

I was looking for a solution that would let me hear TV better as I was catching every 3rd word on some shows...I had particular problem with movies with background music or foreign accents....this was the solution...just bought my wife a set of headphone as this unit pairs with 2 headsets at the same time...this thing is not much bigger than a quarter but puts out a strong bluetooth signal that my wireless headphones pick up without issue. Had a little problem understanding what the lights meant regarding pairing but figured that out pretty soon...a little more documentation/instructions would be welcome.

I have a 20-year-old stereo system with a good CD player, an amplifier, and four speakers (two of them large bass). It has always provided great sound for my classical CDs. Recently a friend of mine got me to begin using Spotify but I wasn't very keen on it because I didn't like the sound I was getting out of a small portable bluetooth speaker. But I began to wonder if there was some way I could listen to Spotify by hooking up my stereo system via bluetooth. Voila - this TaoTronics transmitter/receiver was just what I needed. I was able to hook it up via an RCA audio input on my amplifier. I can now access Spotify on my laptop and use bluetooth to transmit it to the TaoTronics receiver on my amplifier and get great stereo sound through my four speakers.

I stay up late at night doing research on the computer and like to have the TV on. I have always kept the sound down really low so that it does not keep my husband awake. We have a Sony TV with Bluetooth but it would not connect to the Sony Bluetooth speaker that I bought. It is a great TV other than this one function and Sony's tech people told me it is only for connecting a keyboard or phone, not speakers or headphones. Huh? After a bit of research I ordered this BT transmitter because it is one of the newer ones. It works perfectly with the Sony speaker and with a 5$ speaker we bought to try. I am older and have some slight hearing problems and can now hear everything with the speaker sitting on my desk. There is a very slight lag in the speech but if you are not staring at the tv, only glancing at it once in a while it is not a problem. I plugged it into the headphone port on a dvd player so that it does not affect the sound on the TV. Otherwise, if it was connected to the TV's headphone port, I would have to be constantly unplugging it and re-plugging it in. The only hard thing to remember is to turn it off when I am done at night.

Four stars only because the manual doesn't explain how to set it up to transmit to two bluetooth headphones simultaneously very well. Other than that, it's great. No noticeable lag when using it to bridge my Nintendo 3DS and bluetooth headphones, or when using two sets of bluetooth headphones simultaneously to watch a show on my iPad. Long battery life, very small, good build quality. Neither of my headphones support low-latency Apt-X either, which doesn't seem necessary to me since regular Apt-X doesn't have noticeable latency while watching a show.This is the process for pairing two Bluetooth headphones reliably. Make sure there are no other devices in the area set to automatically pair beforehand. I had to unplug my Vanatoo Transparent Zero speakers to make this process work reliably.1) Reset the TaoTronics by switching off, switch to RX, power on, power off, switch to TX.2) Decide which of your two headphones will be primary. After you finish this process, the primary headphone will automatically pair if it's the only one available, and must be available in order for the secondary headphone to automatically pair.3) Turn the primary headphone on and put it in pairing mode.4) Turn the TaoTronics on. It will default to pairing mode since you just reset it. It should quickly pair with your primary headphone.5) Turn your primary headphone off.6) Turn your secondary headphone on and put it in pairing mode.7) Tap the TaoTronics multifunction button twice to put it in pairing mode. Your secondary headphone should quickly pair.8) Turn your primary headphone back on (not in pairing mode, just normal on). It should automatically pair within 10 seconds -- if not, try tapping the power button to cause it to reconnect.9) Both headphones should now be connected with independent volume controls (up to the max set by your source device's volume -- I always turn the source volume all the way up).To use your primary headphone, or both headphones in the future, make sure they're on before you turn the TaoTronics on in TX mode. If the secondary headphone is the only one on, it will not automatically pair with the TaoTronics.

I did not realize how to use the product the first time and left a bad review, the company contacted me and offered to send me a free replacement when i sent back a product that was probably working perfectly. For that I apologize and I have updated my review to not only reflect the excellent product but the excellent customer service they have provided me. Thank you TaoTronics!

Bought this based on extensive Amazon searching for the purpose of turning my DBPower Portable DVD player into a “Bluetooth” device (great DVD player btw.) I wanted to link my wireless Mozart earbuds or JaybirdX2 headphones but neither would link-up in Transmitter mode which is the correct mode for this purpose. Because both headphones and earbuds are “dumb” devices (WITHOUT a selection/sorting screen) and this device is a “dumb” device, its a crap shoot. TAO - PLEASE MAKE A “SMART” Transmitter/Receiver device. <pleading>. You have to turn off all surrounding Bluetooth devices or take them out to the woods where they are forced to be together alone, which I did and they would NOT link. Tried to call their Tech Support but NO ONE answers the phones during business hours PST. The device does seem well build and comes with all necessary cables. Documentation is weak.

This is very useful Product for transmitting/receiving audio OUT and IN respectively esp. when connected to TV. If your TV is non-Bluetooth featured, this is the most useful device for making your TV audio OUTPUT on any blue-tooth devices viz. Headphones, Karaoke Player etc.

Very poor quality. Worked only for 20 days before its Bluetooth stopped working.
