This Light Saber Leaves Bruises!
This light saber is fantastic! It makes all the right sounds, has a good weight to it, and is just really awesome. Trying to fend off my son as he attacks me with it is even more fun. It is very sturdy too, he has struck on the knuckles, and across the knees and shins numerous times now and it has not broken! Great quality! If your child is a Star Wars fan and you love it when they jump out from behind a corner and use an A-Rod on steroids style swing at your head then this is the toy for your house!

Has held up nicely
I was super nervous to get these for my 4 and 5 year old because I saw a few reviews that mentioned them breaking, the noise not working, or the noise being too loud. This particular seller had the least negative reviews at the time so I decided to go ahead and give them a try. We got this one and the blue one. They've had them for 4 months now. Still no damage, they still work great, and they aren't too loud at all. Perfect size for them too.

Perfect for an Accessory to a Costume; Noises can be annoying
Used this as an accessory for a Halloween Costume and not necessarily as a kids toy. It was bigger than expected, which was a bonus for me and lit up very nicely at night. Note you have to put in batteries and use a screwdriver. However, my only complaint is that it makes noises every time you turn it on or if there is an option to turn off the noises, it is not intuitive. As a kids toy - that would probably be annoying but for me, as an adult accessory, it was fine for the night. I just wished it lit up without the noises.

Great bang for the buck
Great bang for the buck. Makes noise just like the expensive models (I have one of the original "museum quality" units - bought these to fight with my grand daughters, seems to be the same noise chip as my $250 model).Good: Excellent noise makers, decent light, great detailing on the handle, good priceBad: only collapsed down to the last segment. Tip it down and all the segments deploy, but may not lock in place.Perfect size for our (slightly small) 7-year old grand daughters

Works great right outside the box, kid loves it.
Arrived safely and timely. Worked perfectly for about a month or so before the volume started sizzling out. Can't really blame the workmanship or quality of the product since it worked perfectly right out of the box (something the expensive Mace Windu lightsaber didn't), but my kid can get rough with these things so I'm sure he broke it during role play. Priced fairly (again, something the Mace Windu lightsaber isn't) so I'll likely get him a new one if he wants it.

Lightsabers should Light up
I originally purchased on Amazon as a Christmas gift. My son was excited, we put brand new batteries in and....did not light up and sound was glitching. Talk about a bummed kid on Christmas morning. I went to the store, found another one - same brand, style, color, everything - came back home, put batteries in it and...did not light up and sound was glitching. I returned both, bought another of the exact same models at Walmart (seems to be the only kid version that has green), came home, put batteries in it and...does not light up but the sound works. In my opinion this is strike 3 and I give up. If you have younger kids, they might not care as much if it doesn't light up, but for my 6 year old, this was a big deal. Also I want to get what I paid for which is a LIGHTsaber that LIGHTS.

Very cool buy not made well.
Very cool toy, the sound effects are spot on and reacts to movement in air and against objects. I am giving a 2 stars however due to the fact that it is now working intermittently. It now turns off randomly and the handle needles to be jiggled a bit for it to turn on. This toy has not been abused, and any clashing with other swords were not violent.

...be with you the force will.
Looks good, has realistic light saber sound effects. I only wish the blade had some way of staying collapsed and would collapse down further than it does. When collapsed, the blade still sticks out from the handle about 12 inches. My two year old son loves to light saber duel. So far, it has held up to pretty good abuse. Takes three AAA batteries so have some handy. Don't go running around the house looking through drawers and calling the neighbors for batteries while you child wants to play Sith vs. Jedi like I did.
