Fun colour change kettle, only used a couple of times but it heated nicely and functioned well. Maybe slightly fiddly to fill and clean but it's only for more occasional use. Very pleased with it so far.

Just switched to induction hob, so decided to go for a kettle to replace our power hungry electric one.The red light on the "meter" is no more and we have a cheery whistle from the past when it's ready.The wife loves the novelty of the spots changing colour.It's a well made product and will soon earn it's keep with the electric savings.

This kettle looks great - watching the little dots change colour as it gets hot brings me a little bit of joy at cuppa time. It has a wide base so the water can heat quickly, and the whistle starts quietly but gets loud enough that you can hear it from anywhere in the house.I use it on a normal electric hob. It takes longer to boil than a plug-in kettle, but I've had three of these develop dangerous electrical faults in the last few years, and I'm sick of worrying that the house will burn down every time I make a cup of tea, so I'm happy to wait a little longer for the hob kettle to boil.However... the button device that opens the spout to pour water out pulls the spout open so sharply that boiling hot water is flicked back onto my hands every time I open the kettle! I've taken to opening the kettle with my sleeve or a cloth covering the spout. Not ideal for me, and dangerous for my children to use the kettle. Also, if I don't get the kettle while it's whistling quietly, the pressure inside the kettle as it whistles loudly also causes boiling water to bubble out from under the lid and run down the sides of the kettle, meaning I have to grab a steaming mass of spitting water to get the kettle off the hob. This happens even if the kettle only has a small amount of water in (I'm not over-filling it, honest!). The kettle doesn't have any gauge to help you boil the right amount of water for 1, 2, 3 cups etc, so I usually end up boiling too much & wasting electricity as I can't be bothered to wrench the lid off and measure in exactly the right amount.So....overall I'm happy to keep the kettle as it's so pretty, but I wish it wasn't such a burn hazard!! Definitely a style over substance purchase.

Absolutely love this kettle. I’m not ashamed to say it brings joy and a smile to my face every time the spots change from black to multi-coloured. Who doesn’t love a whistling kettle? I use it on my gas stove. Not a huge capacity but fine for me as I live on my own. The only downside has been that, as was mentioned by some other reviewers, there is a taste to the water that lingers and I have boiled this kettle 4 or 5 times a day for 3 weeks now. Hopefully this will wear off in time. Update: Beware, looked great for about 3 months but then the spots stopped changing colour. Plus it’s difficult to clean the outside because of scratching the colour-changing spots. Now it looks tatty and needs to be replaced. Overall I’m disappointed wit my purchase.

I didn't realise the kettle would have black spots, but when heating on the stove they turn pretty colours, decided to buy kettle for gas hob to economise on the electric, very efficient only fill for what you need and it whistles when ready, love it and it will pay for itself.

Very happy with this.. Read some issues regarding the colour fading.Nothing yet, perhaps because I'm using an induction hob.

Liked everything about it.plus I bought it cheaper as a returned item.Good as new .Really pleased with it, would recommend.
