UPDATE: It is now the end of 2016 and I felt like I should update this review since it is so old. I still use this product. Yep, I still use it once a week to straighten or curl my hair with the iron. Either or, depends on mood. A couple things to note. It still works great during the summer for my curly hair. I have tried a lot of hair oils since this review. Some were given to me, some were in my Ipsy bag, and some I bought thinking that I might find something better. Wrong, oh so very wrong. WRONG. This is my holy grail hair product, the one I cannot, CANNOT live without. I have repurchased it only 2 times in the past two years. If you wash your hair more often you would use more. I am still in love with this stuff, and I think I always will be as long as they keep making it awesome.This is an amazing product. I have long, curly, frizzy, thick hair that I wear straight during the winter and curly during the summer. I do this because I have to air dry my curly hair for the curls to turn out okay, and it's to cold to do that during the winter. Anyways, for starters, I've used a lot of products before and this is hands down the best. When I straighten my hair I like to wash my hair once a week, on Saturday. I don't have greasy hair naturally, so I can easily go a week between washes when straightening. Plus, it's better for your hair. Many products do not allow this because they make my hair greasy, and to top it off, I wouldn't notice a deference in straightening time. If it takes me the same amount of time to straighten my hair with a product as it does without the product, and I have to wash my hair more with it, then it's no good. Also, products claiming to last a week with straight awesome hair with washes are pointless for me since I don't need to wash my hair but once a week without any product. That being said, after buying the straightener that had this little sample with it, I read up on all the reviews and thought I'd give it a try.First: it does not, in any way, make my hair feel greasy. Even after a week there is no greasy feeling from the product, and my sister-in-law has commented on how great my hair looks on the Saturday I plan on washing it.Second: the styling time has been cut in half. Literally blow drying and straightening my hair takes me about 30 minutes or less depending on how long after my shower I start doing my hair.Third: before this oil I would have to touch up my hair every morning. You know, get out a few kinks that showed up at night. Not anymore. Perfect hair all week, didn't have to restraighten once. I notice this only when I blow dry and straighten. If I put my hair in a braid and then straighten in the morning it isn't as good, but still better than without.Third: a little goes a long way. I've used this six times now, five weeks of awesome hair, and the oil isn't even under the neck of the bottle yet. I was so worried that I would be spending about $20 a month on this, which for some people is not a lot, but for us full-time moms and college students, I was worried. Considering how much use I've gotten and still have a practical full bottle, the price is pennies.Finally: it works great for leaving your hair natural. For those wondering how I got five weeks of awesome hair for six uses, well one time I decided to put it in my hair like I was going to blow dry and straighten, and my two year old started throwing up. Plans stop, mommy to the rescue. Well, an hour later I finally got to see myself in the mirror, and voila, non-frizzy, awesome, super soft curls. I could not believe it. The secret to good curls in curly hair is don't touch it while it's drying. The secret to awesome curls is use this oil while wet, then don't touch it while drying. Worth every penny and then some.

WOW! I'm obsessed with this stuff.My hair is very thin and a dark brown. Usually, if I add any product, especially oils, it just weighs down my hair and makes it look greasy. My hair also tangles very easily. I am forever brushing my hair to give it a smooth, silky look, because it will be tangled up in no time. I got fed up with not being able to run my fingers through my hair without it snagging in a tangled mess of hair. Don't get me wrong, I use clarifying shampoo once a week, deep condition my hair once a week and condition it daily. I blow dry my hair with a heat protectant and then proceed to flat iron. I've done many different combinations of products or lack of to give me smooth, untangled hair. Nothing has worked.I saw all of the positive reviews on this and figured I would give it a shot. The instructions said to use on moist hair, or dry. I let my hair air dry for probably 15 minutes before I put a few drops on my hair and ran it through my damp hair. It smells wonderful, definitely perfumey but not in an "old lady" kind of way. I blow dryed my hair like normal and ran my fingers through my hair. BIG difference. Already, I could see that my hair was behaving more. It didn't frizz apart into a messy part wavy/part straight style like it always does. Instead, it was just gently wavy throughout, and it had a pretty, gentle shine to it. I decided to add a few more drops of oil to the finished look, and it just gave it a great, healthy look. My fingers slide easily through my hair. I seriously am obsessed with the smell too, even my boyfriend said, "Mmmm... New perfume?" when I met up with him later.Normally, any oil product makes my hair look dirty by the end of the day, but that's not the case with this. I didn't even particularly avoid the roots, I just focused most of the oil on the ends, and then with what little residue was left on my hands, ran my fingers through my hair, starting at the scalp and going back to the ends.I'm so happy with this stuff.

***UPDATE***I have been using this now for almost 2 years and I love it! I put just a little in my hands, warm it up and run all through my wet/damp hair. I let it set for a little bit before I blow dry and it makes my hair very soft, and also keeps it protected. I go 1-2 years between hair cuts and every time, my hair dresser tells me how great the ends of my hair look, and its because of this HSI product!! I definitely got better, the more i used it. At first I hated it, now I use it every single day!!I have long, thin, fine hair that tangles VERY easily. I dont do my hair much ie: blow drying, straightening ect, because my hair is so delicate i avoid any potential damage. I bought this based on all the amazing reviews and Its ok from my few days of trying it.Day 1. I used it on my daughters hair whos is just like mine, very fine. It was a little oily at first but then was fine, her hair seemed no different after it had dried. So I thought i'd try mine.Day 2. I used it on my dry hair, just a little bit and didnt seem to notice much of a difference, if anything it made my hair slightly frizzy and I did not liek that.Day 3. I used it on my wet hair, blow dried it and it looked less frizzy than when i blow dry with no product, and a little more shiny. So I was impressed with that. I then went on to straight my hair and thats when I noticed a difference. It definitely made my hair more shiny and silky.Overall, it DOES work...if you are styling your hair. I was looking for something that I could just put in my hair and notice the difference but from what I gather, heat seems to active this. I could be wrong but thats how it appeared with my hair. I'll try it a few more times but if I can't get it to work without heat, i'll probably just send it back.

Skip the vending machine, carpool, sell drugs (just kidding)--do whatever you need to do to get the money for this product. You will no longer need to buy cheap hair serums, heat protectants, or anti-frizz agents anymore--HSI argan oil will do it all!Shipping: I ordered the 4 oz bottle on a Sunday with an estimated 3-5 business days to arrive. It arrived on Friday in perfect condition.The Product:Smell: subtle--you would have to press your nose to your hair to smell it, so it's not overpowering. However, the scent is not my favorite. I prefer the wonderful salon-y smell of Organix Argan Oil (blue bottle--available for about $3 at shopko in travel size, but greasy in large amounts.)The Packaging: although it's a a high-end product, the oil comes in a boring, 90's-esque glass bottle. But this is just a superficial aspect.What it does:Greasy? Not at all, even in large amounts. The oil can be applied all through the hair (no "mid-shaft to ends").Heat Styling? I used this as a heat protectant before straightening my hair . Before, I had been using Tresemme thermal protections, but it doesn't smell great and leaves hair stiff like hairspray. HSI left my hair extremely soft and shiny without being greasy.I applied the oil throughout my hair. No frizz!!!End result:When unstraightened, my hair is shoulder-length, thick, and poofy. It's very time-consuming to style. But I almost don't need to straighten it after applying the oil. I feel like my hair is much healthier and silky now.I wish this product came in barrels!!
