Excellent basic unit. I would buy again.
Limitations: single temp. No ventilation fan, have to rotate trays every two to four hours. No instructions that I could find on setting vent positions. (I don’t think the position changes anything).Pluses: IT WORKS! Does exactly what it says it does. End product was consistent from tray to tray. Very happy with this machine. I would definitely buy again! If you are looking for bang for your buck, this unit is it. Yes, you have to rotate trays every two to four hours, from eight to thirty-six hours, depending on product being dehydrated. If that is a problem for you, then I would suggest that this unit isn’t for you. I personally have no issue with. I’m very happy with my Ronco.

Dehydrates fruits and vegetables
I bought this for my spouce, she likes to home preserve some things ,make jam, etc.it has been on the counter dehydrating everything ,since it arrived.it has no fan, that saves a little electricity, you just switch the trays around and it works fine.It comes with lots of trays, the price was great, and it works quietly. And you can slip back into all those old Ronco ads of yesteryear. I would buy it again.

Product has been around for many years.
I simply like the simplicity of this design and function. Still have my old one I bought back in 1992!

No power switch or indicator
I think this product should be $20-30, not the $40 I paid or the $50 it's listed for now. It is just a warm plastic box; switch, sensors or even a power indicator. I added one for myself, but that "feature" should not be optional. If this device fails catastrophically (and it may fail since, to my memory, it does not have a TCO or fuse inside, and even if I remember that wrong, it *definitely* does not have a fallback safety feature), the user should be able to shut it off, not have to dig up the chord in order to remove danger.Besides that, it is solidly built and maintains a consistent temperature and reduced humidity, and I have let mine run for weeks (to keep 3D printer filament dry), without it melting, sagging or even changing temperature very much.As a filament drier, it is passable, but I did add a pass-through for filament to escape, a lazy Susan so it could spin freely, and I had to cut up one of the shelves to open up enough space for the roll. Overall, at this ridiculous price, I recommend a purpose-build filament drier if that's what you're using it for. And if you're using it for food, then at least buy one with a power switch, or even failing that, a power indicator.
