Black Sails Season 4 [2017]

Good old watch. Bit addictive. Based on a lot of real characters. Ah har !

It was something of a surprise to find that there was a fourth series of this great show as I thought the third season was the end! Black Sails is a fantastic series which is effectively a prequel to the Treasure Island story by Robert Louis Stevenson. The cast is spectacular with some truly amazing performances and the production values are extraordinary. The whole series has the perfect mix of tension, drama, pathos, humour and, of course, good old fashioned raunchy, debauched piracy! I would recommend this series to anyone although I would advise parental discretion as the violence and sexual content may not be suitable for the under 15s!

Excellent series - loved the atmosphere of the period settings. Interested in the way fictitious characters were mixed with real historical figures, even if many historical facts were moulded to suit the story. Could easily have had a spin off story with Calico Jack and his two female crew (the second of which joined at the very end of the series, albeit under the name Michael), all of whom were real characters - Jack was caught and hung, the two girls were caught sentenced to death but were spared as both were pregnant (one died in prison prior to giving birth, the other survived but disappeared from history) - life can definitely be stranger than fiction! Brilliant.

Absolute awesome show and a good, satisfying ending. This show never jumped the shark. The acting is great, the production value is very high. The story is action packed but has time for character development, making you symphatize with characters you may have disliked earlier, they are al very human. I only wish there was the option to have subtitles, sometimes it's hard to make out what is being said when people are yelling and there's cannonshots, swords clashing, ocean roaring and the likes.

This Dvd boxset was in mint condition and was as good as new. This product was a worthwhile edition and I would easily recommend it to anybody interested in the series as a whole.

Good quality

Had no idea how this would end. No real clues to give it away so enjoyed watching the story play out. The actings great and the characters' interwoven lives made me want to keep watching.

This season finished the story off to a Tee. It was full of action and suspense the viewer not really knowing what was to be the outcome of many of the situations. I recommend all the seasons and was sorry when it finished. If you like swashbuckling adventures, then this is for you. I loved it and recommend it.

If you like Pirates, good battle scenes, sex, a good story line, great scenery etc etc this series has it all. Too bad it ended at 4 seasons. Worth the investment.

Spannende Serie

Really fantastic show all the way through. Absolutely top notch acting and writing. Sorry it ended. Highly recommended for adventure seekers....all served up to peer through a historical looking glass.

This has got to be the BEST series ever! Fantastic story, fantastic scenery, brilliant actors, amazing action (not for the weak hearted!), simply the best!
