Is Morgan a natural born Killer?
Morgan is the product of a large corporation developing synthetic DNA intertwining with human DNA. The resulting humanoid Morgan develops strength and physical growth at a fast rate. Morgan's carer's believe there is also intellect, sensitive complex emotions and a genuine love of the natural world including flowers, bees and deer. However a violent incident has Morgan incarcerated in the facility. An unsympathetic investigator arrives who questions the staff, watches footage of the incident and observes Morgan. A psychiatrist subjects Morgan to severe Psycho-analysis and degrading abuse by suggesting that Morgan is not real and cannot experience love. The psychiatrist further goads Morgan by giving Morgan freedom, prison and life and death choices. Morgan reacts with violence and tragically the psychiatrist dies. This leads to a further breakdown in the relationships between Morgan, the carers and the investigator. The carers and the investigator disagree on how to approach and resolve the situation leaving Morgan feeling more vunerable. Morgan escapes the facility with the one person Morgan still trusts. Despite being hunted through the forests and lakes Morgan feels free. The investigator eventually tracks Morgan down. The investigator eventually overwhelms both Morgan and Morgan's protector. The investigator returns to her corporate bosses who congratulate her on her success. The film has an ambiguous ending as we learn that the corporate investigator is a killer who follows instructions whereas Morgan followed instincts. I chose this film for a disscussion group. The subject was A.I. is this an A.I film? Decide for yourself!

One of the best films I've seen for some time
Hi, presumably after an embarrassing experience making The Predator, Boyd Holbrook would be relieved that he has this movie on his resume after that one failed to launch him. Directed by Ridley offspring Luke Scott this low-budget sci-fi tale of a group of scientists in a remote location developing a synthetic human for weaponization is quite something to behold, and very well played by Anna Taylor-Joy. Kate Mara's assessor is dispatched to the site to assess on the commercial viability of such an enterprise right at the moment where the subject starts to question the purpose of her existence and whether indeed she wants to be cooped up inside a flexi-glass cell for now and for all times. Great cast, swift running time and some excellent ideas are brilliantly conveyed. Well worth checking out, and on the Blu Ray there is cool 20 minute short starting Giovanni Ribisi. A great package all considered.

A great film
I really enjoyed the film and it was delivered on time. Nice cameo appearance from Brian Cox at the end. The end did throw me a bit. Wasn't expecting it.

"..BRILLIANT, LOVED EVERY SECOND.."
PLOT...A corporate risk-management consultant must decide whether or not to terminate an artificially created humanoid being. This is probably the coolest sci-fi to come along since Ex Machina, a small budget movie but it looks stunning and plays out brilliantly with a great unfolding story a strong cast and just an overall great atmosphere, the movie is lead by two main characters, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, Split) as Morgan who is a brilliant young actress and Kate Mara (The Martian, Fantastic Four) Who plays the corporate consultant is absolutely brilliant, the movie plays out in a cool way with some interesting twists towards the end, the movie gets violent at times and has some cool small action moments, overall its just a wonderful movie that's great to watch and I would absolutely go back to watch it again many times too, good support cast of many famous faces like Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Toby Jones and Brian Cox, make sure you check out this little gem.Blu-ray picture looks great in HDFeatures include a commentary, deleted scenes, short film, gallery, and a 19min featurette.Region B only, running time 1hr-31mins, 2016.Audio English, English audio descriptive. subtitles for the hearing impaired.First lot come with a slipcover. Comes with a standard HD digital download code.

Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
Despite some critics deriding its unashamed derivativeness and obvious narrative I found Luke Scott’s (son of Ridley ‘Blade Runner’ Scott) directorial debut 2016 SF movie to be a thoroughly entertaining ninety minute B-movie with an A-list cast and production values. Although lacking the subtlety and intensity of Alex Garland’s Ex Machina the film nevertheless is an intriguing diversion in further exploring the dangers of bioengineering when humans are tempted to play God and create an artificial being, in this case for the purpose of corporate profit by developing a humanoid weapon. The narrative centers on Kate Mara’s Lee Weathers company risk assessor who arrives at an isolated research establishment in response to a disturbing incident involving Morgan, the five year old teenager hybrid created by a small group of scientists who appear to possess parental feeling towards it. Lee has no such ambiguities regarding the corporation’s asset and immediately perceives the dangerously manipulative nature of this creature. Morgan is fully aware of the perilousness of its existence and the threat posed by this visitor and does all it can to survive. The stand-out scene is undoubtedly that between Morgan and Paul Giamatti’s psychiatrist which triggers a change in the movie’s tone from restrained sinister to unrestrained frenzy. Definitely worth at least one viewing.
