Hair Fibers Conceal Hair Loss, Thinning Hair and Bald Spots on Men and Women (Black)

As a man my hair loss has been slow, but it has recently gone worse because of dermatological issues with my scalp. I have started using fibres as a last resort – until I make the decision of shaving my head once for all. The first brand I have used is Nanogen. I found it adequate overall, in spite of a major drawback. This is something that many men feel VERY concerned about, and that some call the ‘pillow effect’: if you keep those fibres on and sleep with them, you are certain to get a pillow full of black powder in the morning, or anytime during the night (if you happen to be ‘busy’ before dawn....). There is no need to say that this is very embarrassing in some situations... Besides the embarrassment, the sheer amount of residue left on pillows and bedclothes makes me wonder how well that stuff sticks to your hair in the daytime, and how much gets into your lungs and eyes during the night if you ‘have to’ keep it on then (that the product is ‘natural’ is neither here nor there: any dusty stuff – flour is natural too... – should never get into those inner parts of yours).I had been using Nanogen since April 2015. Because of the high cost and dissatisfaction, I kept looking around, with very low expectations. Because others report the same issue with other brands like Toppik or Caboki I did not try any of those. In December 2016, by pure chance whilst looking through Amazon listings I came across Strand Maximizer. No reviewer mentioned the pillow issue, but then I expected ALL such products to suffer from the same drawback anyway. I bought one bottle only out of curiosity. After all, it was not likely to be significantly worse than what I expected or already knew.From the first application, I found the fibres were and felt thicker than Nanogen’s, and the coverage was obtained faster and more effectively with a smaller amount. Given that you get 28g for the same price as 15g of Nanogen, this made it look like good value for money. SM was just as dusty as Nanogen upon application but it holds very well with hairspray, with no visible loss of product during the day.I decided to go for the pillow test, having no doubt that it would get blackened, only hoping that it would be less massive and conspicuous than with other products (a poor consolation if it happened, but that would be something). In the morning, as I turned my head to inspect the pillow, I just could not believe my eyes: there was NO residue on it (the pillows were the very same ones that got covered with Nanogen fibres each time I left it on). I checked the bedclothes too, but there was not a trace either. A total surprise! This was so unexpected and important I decided to repeat the test every evening for 2 weeks. And I must say that on NO occasion was there ANY visible trace of fibres on the pillow or elsewhere in the bed! Finally, I have noticed that I can sleep with it on and just comb my hair in the morning. This means that I don’t always have to go through the whole routine of washing hair, drying and applying fibres in the morning. A little touching-up only is required for my hair to look like the day before. This is something that would never be possible with Nanogen or, presumably, any of the similar products people usually compare it with.Strand Maximizer is truly amazing; and for a sceptic like me, a rare and true winner. Before finding it I was actually considering giving up on concealers and accepting my fate. But I will use Strand Maximizer from now on, and with great relief (and so much more confidence)! The only negative is that the bottle has no ‘window’ that lets you know when the bottle is nearly empty. This is still the first one I am using and I have no clear idea of how long it will last. I will keep my half-filled bottle of Nanogen as a backup in case I suddenly run out of SM...

It’s truly a great product. It has boost my confidence. I don’t know if they add volume but definitely covers the patch & gray hair and blends well with my own hair. I would have given them 5 star if they can improve the container. I take them with me when I travel & that would mean I can’t keep the container upright & they create so much mess when I take the lid off.

I've used a lot of these keratin hair fiber products but this is probably the best behind the likes of Toppik. What amazed me the most is how little you need compared to other non-premium brands. Many of the others have left such a lot of the fibers on the basin and I've had to redo the same patch several times. With Strand Maximiser you get good coverage with 1-2 coatings and there is very little waste on the basin afterwards. Whether this is because of the dispenser shape or because they're thicker or because they're statically charged, I am unsure. But rest assured it's a good product. It's just a shame it's 20 quid but still if you don't need as much and there is little to no waste, I imagine it will go a lot further.

This product is amazing! After dying my hair black for years, I have recently noticed thinning, which looks all the more dramatic against my pale scalp. I’m trying to grow back the hair that has been lost and not dye my roots. This covers the thinner spots on my scalp and covers the lighter root regrowth amazingly. I put this on over my parting and at the crown of my head and either brush through or work in with fingers. I don’t find it moves at all and I never find it on my pillow. Absolute holy grail!

This is ingenious it works really well it has given me so much more confidence. I would highly recommend if you are conscious about your being on show. I don't think it would work as well on large bald patches but it works great if u have very fine or thin hair it completely covers my scalp and makes my hair look so much healthier and thicker. It has given me the confidence to style my hair differently and I'm no longer worrying about people being able to see my scalp.

easy to use and to remove if you make a mistake

If you have more than slight hair loss this is not the product for you. It is very fine like dust and does not cover more obvious hair loss. It also has a terrible smell which is not pleasant if people get near to you

Great for concealing small bald patches on crown. I had the right colour for my hair and it's so quick and easy to use.
