Kojak - The Complete Series [DVD] [1973]

Kojak was before my time, it's been on ITV4 recently, I watched a few episodes..then knew I had to get the boxset. Brilliant writing, stories and character's,1970s NYC!!!!Telly was a great actor, he stole every scene, his real life Brother is so funny ..'Fatso' Stavros! Loved every episode 🩷

Great that this iconic 1970s series is available at a reasonable price. Kojak is one of TVs most iconic characters and made a big star of telly savalas. Must buy, you won't be disappointed.

I remember watching these on the BBC as part of their detective series of shows in the 70s, always liked the writing and acting in gritty Manhattan. Telly Savalas manages to find some humour in the stories, some of which cover serious subjects. Picture and sound is perfect, very satisfied with my purchase.

This is intended as a present but I was pleased with it.

I bought this DVD set not noticing that it's the wrong region, but that was NOT the seller's fault. I didn't read the description carefully enough. (it does say Region 2 on the item page) I was fixated on the price + the fact that it's the only box set available. The seller also put a sticker on the outside of the shrink-wrapped box which tells you it's Region 2 DVDs and if you bought the DVDs by mistake, do not open the box & just return it for a refund. Anyway, I bought a Region Free DVD player for $45 & the DVDs work fine. The seller shipped the item very quickly. The item arrived undamaged and is the exact item seen in the photo. Overall the seller is A+. As for the series, there's not much to say. It's Kojak. If you like Kojak, (& have a Region Free DVD player) you'll like the DVD set. If you don't know what Kojak is, Google it. In short, it's a cool 1970s police detective series. "Kojak" is a NYC detective, played by Telly Savalas, who goes around doing what police detectives do. (solving crimes) The stories, writing, acting, sets, etc, are all great. If you like 70's police detective shows, you'll probably like Kojak. If you like Kojak, you'll like the DVD set. There's really not much more to say. There is 1 thing worth noting. Unlike many series which were/are filmed in Hollywood & depict a different location, Kojak was actually filmed in NYC, (even the fictional "11th precinct" shown in the series is a REAL police precinct (the 9th) so there's a lot of cool footage of NYC in the 1970s.
