...another fantastic Joshua Hood high adventure action-thriller!
Book Review – The Treadstone Rendition – Joshua HoodI’ve said it before from previous books and I’ll say it again, author Joshua Hood can write! …as evident in his latest composition of the fourth book in the Robert Ludlum’s Treadstone series, “The Treadstone Rendition.” This narrative is another high adventure action-thriller set in the hasty American withdrawal of Afghanistan. It was a fantastic read! Relentless action, surprising twists, and well-developed characters, The Treadstone Rendition is a strong characterization of Joshua Hood’s quality writing and relatable combat experience. In the final days of the American presence in the Afghanistan withdrawal, main character Adam Hayes is summoned to help extract an old Afghan friend that saved his life ten years ago. The Afghan is desperate to flee his homeland not only because of the Taliban takeover, but he is also the only eyewitness – with photographic proof - to a horrendous massacre committed by a team of rogue CIA black ops contractors. Hayes breaks a promise to get out of ‘the business’ to go save his friend and thus, this is where the excitement begins. Compelling, Captivating, Timely, and Convincing, this story was genuine and authentic! No political bashing nor political comments or opinions about the Afghan withdrawal, just continuous actionable and adventurous storytelling told to entertain, satisfy, and enjoy. I really enjoyed this book - stayed up all night finishing it! Probably my favorite of the four-book series and definitely a ‘must read’ on the action thriller reading list.

Great
Good story with the same drama excitement thatJason Bourne novels provided. Very believable based on the news reports that came out of this region.

What a Fun Read
The characters that made this story so fun to read, are at it again. Bad guys, impossible odds, difficult territories, throw in a few traitors. The story takes place during the insanity of operating in a country collapsing to terrorist control as American forces are evacuating. I found myself burning through the pages of nearly non-stop action all the way to the conclusion.
