Sonicon Emuson Emulation Board Replaces Raspberry Pi 3B+, Mini Computer w/ 148 Emulators Preloaded, RetroPie ROM Downloader for Arcade Cabinet Retro Gaming (8GB + 128GB)

I purchased both the RetroPie 128 GB Micro SD Card and this product (EmuSon board). These both work great with my PS3 controllers and I'm assuming any handheld USB or bluetooth controller will be plug n play. Max with Development and Tech Support is super helpful and spent a lot of time helping me because of my specific controller, but if you use a handheld controller, everything is plug n play out of the box.Those with X-Arcade Tankstick or alternate arcade type controllers read on:If you have an X-Arcade Tankstick or arcade type controller, there is a little bit of config setup for those, but it's not hard to follow the controller configuration setup and there are several videos online to walk you through it, but tech support is also there if needed.I had a few issues getting it to work with my X-Arcade Tankstick, and Max with Sonicon replaced both the SD Card and the EmuSon board for free initially, THEN AFTER GETTING THE FREE REPLACEMENTS, he continued to assist me with my Tankstick configuration and other settings over the phone for quite a long time. The team is small so the tech support line may sometimes take a bit to respond, but Max literally sent me helpful links, videos, and stepped through settting things up step by step for my Tankstick over the phone.Great product and great service!

First board worked great for three hours. Upon booting up on second use, would get hung up on loading screen. Hade to keep shutting off. Would load to UI interface preload and then go dead. Reached out for customer support Monday about issue, no reply. Amazon took board back and sent a new one. Package arived and had no board but two hard boiled egg holders. Spent and hour on phone with Amazon about wrong item sent only to be offered a credit when I return wrong product, meaning drive another hour to a UPS store to send back. Reached out again to company and no reply. Don't think they stand behind their product at this point seeing it has been 4 days and they don't bother to respond. When board worked, it worked great. I had also purchased the preloaded card from same company a month ago for my PI3B, had some issues with that and their response was to send back for replacement. I did not send back but looked at every blog I could and found the correct settings needed to fix the issues. Again, no support from seller.

The 3.1 Jack has been disabled by altering this board . They have one video showing on u tube and shows another board needed to get pin plug speakers connected with a connected hdmi . No information what it is or where to buy . If you use the great Sony amplified speakers plugged into the 3.1 it cranks . The book has no sound information other than not to use the 3.1. This is going backwards not forward as far as being able to amplify the sound . I spent my days trying to get the pi3b to have sound then finding out the 3.1 with the now old stock Sony amplified speakers work great . Now this guy said there going to release a new one where the 3.1 works . You see what happens when my generation grows up and takes over. If the 3.1 don’t work out for sound there should be details on what to do loud and clear and informative on where to purchase what if anything else is needed. I use a game monitor the regular pi sound is confusing without the 3.1 no clue what to do .

The media could not be loaded.  The combination of the board and card is so great, have so many arcade games I played when I was a child. I've been talking with the tech team for a while and they told me they were working on the bigger card with more PS and DC games, I would love to get one when it's ready, and can't wait to see the fantastic games.I'm searching for a board for my handmade arcade cabinet for a while and luckily I find this emulation board. Max answered many questions for me before I decide to try it. And after I receive it, he helped me configure my arcade joystick and many other systems set up. I'm still working on my cabinet. Can't wait to see what it will look like at the end! Great product, would recommend it!
