Tauten LineWelder - Automatic Fishing Line Tyer

My husband does ultra light fishing and his test line is 2-6 lb usually. I've watched him trying to tie the hook and with his big hands it's always a problem - but using this.- problem solved! This works great.. he was impressed with the ease of use and how well the weld holds - he tried to pull this out himself and couldn't budge it. He's been fishing 63 years and really likes this.

Would like to use heavier line. All in all I have enjoyed the convenience since I have difficulty with my aging hands.See the pictures of how I used a pelican case to secure the base mount and installed the line guides. This really helps when I am out in the bays and the boat is rocking real good. Keep you line wet and taught. Good Luck....

This product is a must have for all who fish! The way this welds the line together is fast, strong and much easier than tying a fishing knot. I’m looking forward to landing many striped bass and bluefish with this revolutionary technology. Also, love the portability of the unit, easy to use at home, or out on the boat.

Easy to use but I don’t trust the strength of the “weld”. Given that it’s a pricey “maybe”.

It does not work when joining fishing line to braider or mono and a paid $200 usd for it.. I want my money back

First let me say this in not a "Fishing Line Tyer". as it states in there description. It is a line welder that melts the line together to form a bond. I've had this for a while now and I have had very mixed results with it. In my experience, I find that the brand / type of mono directly impacts the quality of the weld. It works well on some and not well on others. At the end of the day, I would not trust the welds and have resorted to hand tying. For the price I would expect better and more consistent results. It's a pass in my opinion.

I bought this for my son in law, a fisherman. He hasn’t tried it yet but was very enthusiastic about the concept

EDIT: 8/13/2018Had an initial mistake with the delivery as some things missing from the package, but that was taken care of without an issue. A Tauten rep reached out and addressed the missing pieces and sent them, priority. Problems are inevitable. It matters most in how they are dealt with. I'm a happy customer.It seems that I was sent the starter kit instead of the full kit I ordered. The two main things I expected to have, and were missing, were the Base and Outrigger Line Clamp. Will probably return the order unless those parts can be sent.As for the product itself? I've only used it a few times and had mixed results. Seems like a cool idea, but not sure the bond is strong enough to trust. I had to do multiple tries to get decent results. This may get easier if I get familiar with the device, but I'm not sure if it is going to be the easy and time saving alternative to just tying a good knot.
