In a twisted world, Marianne gives birth to a rather unusual child. While the child is born dead, life finds it's way through the afterbirth. Marianne decides to raise her placenta as a normal human being; as a young man named Luke. Behind his monstrous facade, there reveals a person of intelligence, faith and sensitivity. Luke struggles for his place in a world of drunks, junkies, whores and bodybuilders. An insane world that treats him as a freak. As this hostile society pushes him towards the edge, Luke has to choose between holding on to his gentle ideals or becoming the merciless soldier his mother always wanted him to be.

Surprisingly... good. Really good.
Okay, sure... I've been drinking, BUT this movie was surprisingly, amazingly good. The cinematography is EXCELLENT! The plot, if you swapped out the foam puppet for an actor is fairly tense and dramatic. Seriously, everyone needs to get drunk and watch this thing. It's... In the morning, provided I remember, I'm going to hunt down a physical copy of this and buy it. THAT is how strongly I feel about this movie. It's just so amazingly weird! It's played so freaking straight, but there's this Basket Case puppet, and this ominous ambient synth soundtrack... You just have to experience it. Take it from this very drunk random guy emphatically writing this in the middle of the night and give it a shot.

-5 stars.
Gross! Waste of time and film. I only started it to see what it was and I still don't know! Terrible! Special effects look like a 2nd grader used play puddy to make them. I can't believe it is even on Amazon

Hardly brilliant, but funny and downright unsettling
Those that give this five stars have been smoking some "brilliant" weed. The movie has terrible dialogue, acting and no story at all. With that being said, those things are what also makes this entertaining and hilarious at times. There seems to be no effort at all into any kind of story. They insert characters with no depth to them at all. the main characters have no history or any reason to like or dislike them. The placenta is silly and sad. His mom is mental and also sad. Its worth a watch just to see how bad it is...which is good....eh? Makes sense? No....just like the movie.

You have the right to be appalled and the right to abort the film half way through for feeling like nightmare fuel and the movie also knows this
Sure puts the "Trama" in "Troma". It ain't everyone's cup of tea and the film knows it. You have the right to be appalled and the right to abort the film half way through for feeling like nightmare fuel and the movie also knows this. It's devoid of all that terrible low budget indie CGI which keeps decent folks from giving these kinds of 21st century un-decent indie films a chance. If you like "Full Moon" studio level puppetry, you'll be fine with the effects, and the atmosphere is sure something. It feels like I watched "Basket Case" back to back with "Eraser Head", then listened to a church channel until I fell asleep and the movie was all a fever dream, and I mean that in the best way possible. You're probably never going to forget this movie.

seriously trippy
Only put this on because I was curious to see what a teenage placenta looks like, but boy what an unexpected treat. The level of detail is amazing. I kept pausing so I could look at all the stuff in the background. Could probably watch it twenty times and keep finding things I never noticed before. The camera work is fantastic. It's well written, the characters are thoughtfully fleshed out, and the acting matches the dialog. At first it reminded me of John Waters' early films, but overall the tone is much darker. This is not really a comedy, it's just so weird and sick you may laugh in discomfort. Possibly the most bizarre film I've ever seen that still manages to have a coherent plot. Will definitely have my eye out for future works by Joel Rabijns and Yves Sondermeier.

Umm....
What did I just do?

WTF
I know it's a Troma film, but good lord. It wasn't even enjoyably bad. It's a sad tale of a placenta whose mom keeps him more or less hidden from society.

Must watch!
by "must watch!" i mean it in the same way your degenerate friends tell you to Google things like blue waffle. For an "enhanced" viewing experience, watch it with Closed Captioning. I watched it all the way totally sober and I can't wait until weed is legal in my state so I can watch it a second time. Do not recommend watching this on acid.
