It’s not perfect, but it’s still pretty great!
I was hesitant buying this tank, but my betta LOVES it. I had it set up prior to buying him so I was scared that I’d put him in and he wouldn’t care for the bubbles; turns out he loves playing in them. The current was a tad strong at first so I took a chunk of filter sponge and put it in the base of the bubble tube. Since then, my little Ghibli has been swimming just fine. The tank is attractive and it does it’s intended job. Cleaning can be tricky with the small opening and the large gravel, but it’s not impossible if you’ve done it enough times.Lastly, the air pump is a little annoying with its buzzing. We keep the tank in the office, so it’s not a big deal but I wouldn’t recommend keeping this tank in a bedroom or intended quiet space.Overall the tank is great, it stays clean for long periods of time and my betta loves it. I don’t regret my purchase!

works well, good quality, nice gift
I got the eight gallon and it looks great, the only issue is the poor instructions, I went on line and still can not figure out how to set the tank timer for the lights, seems like I have lots of company based upon the other comments. the tank stays clean so I am changing the filter once a month. They say do not overfeed your fish and that is true. I give them a small pinch and watch as they eat it, if it is all gone, I will give another small pinch and watch to see how quickly they come for it, in that way I was able to determine just how much they need, Oh, get all your fish at the same time, tank mates will resent and may attack a newbie, keep to the rule one fish per gallon and make sure you have a snail and catfish for debris cleanup and to remove algae, Oh and use real plants, they add oxygen to the water and some fish will nibble on them to supplement their food

Just wonderful, wow!
This aquarium is so easy to set up and beautiful to see. My fish is so happy in her new home. I love this unit. After struggling with less expensive units, I finally invested in something worthwhile. My BiOrb Flow 30 with MCR lighting has taken away the headache of maintaining an aquarium and it is simply stunning.

LED light stopped working
Got this for Christmas and love the look. Unfortunately, the LED light stopped working just 4 months in..... the filter is also not as powerful as expected. Trying to resolve the light issue with amazon/the manufacturer but it's not an easy process.

Beautiful but...
Update 2/2021: OK, everything I said before is true except for this being "great". We have a problem with green algae. I contacted biorb a couple months in and tried reducing feeding to once per day (we only have 1 beta so we don't have a lot of fish or food going in), stopped using the light (which is frustrating because we picked the MCR for the colorful lights) and only use them 0-2 hours a day now after the sun goes down (so sometimes we forget and don't light it up and sometimes it's on during dinnertime so not that long). We also switched to the algae filter in ADDITION to our regular filter. I am doing everything exactly as they recommend and about 2 weeks into a filter change the walls, windows, and all of the decor is green algae covered again. I since have asked on amazon about other's experiences and I am not the only one with this issue. So, this is a beautiful display tank but it does not do well with algae, be prepared to clean the tank early each month (maybe get to week 3) and spend about an hour taking out everything, cleaning it all and then putting it back in. It's a time and money investment since filters are not cheap. Also, my MCR light stopped working within 6 months and the company was really good about replacing it, so that is a plus, but it still shouldn't have happened and hopefully it was a fluke and doesn't happen again as they aren't cheap once it's out of warranty.Original review (bought 8/2021):We invested in this (8 gallon with multiple color lights) as we wanted it to be able to be displayed in our kitchen. I read a lot of reviews and had some fears but so far it's been great. The motor for the filter is very quiet as long as it's in it's own, if it touches something else it will vibrate but that's an easy thing to control. The tank is easy to setup. The amount of gravel it comes with is sufficient, although we wanted a colorful layer do we added some additional large rocks. We bought one of the pre-designed sets for the tank, which was a great value and almost too much for the tank. It has 3 tall plants, 1 center corral, 2 floor plants, 3 starfish and 3 shells. The multicolor lighting is really fun, I would recommend it as it looks great especially against the white tank. There is some distortion on the rounded corners, if that matters to you, but it makes no difference to me. I would recommend it if you're looking for a great small tank that's pretty and quiet.

Beautiful and Smart!!!
First, I like how pretty it is... the design is stunning and surpasses all the clunkers out there. Second, It's well thought out scientifically. The substrate encourages good bacteria that is essential in keeping healthy fish. The filter is at the bottom, a smart place to put it, and also has an air bubbler which is pretty (again) and also aids in oxygen/gas exchange at the surface. The filter is easy to change. The lighting is amazing and so fun to run through all the colors at night! Spend the extra $50 for the better MCR light remote - it's worth it. I LOVE this aquarium!

My new Joy and stress relief
I’m not new to the aquarium hobby seen but I did t want to go back to the 25+ gallon size tank. The maintenance sometimes is just too painful. I did my home before I purchase this all in one tank. Shouts out to the YouTube channel ‘Biorb Step by Step’. A wonderful channel that help me seal the deal for me. Now, I did make some small modification to add a additional filter and air stone but I love it. It’s cost a little to maintain but that’s not inclusive to just this aquarium. Understanding how to manage the water in terms of the right ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate level goes a long way in keeping your fishes happy and alive. For plants, I chose to go with mostly fake plants because I didn’t want to deal with adding substrate. Adding two live ferns and some floating plants. The ferns are attached to coconut shells so I don’t have worry about planting anything. Overall, this is a great tank for starters or a more experience hobbyists who wants to spend more time enjoying the tank and less time cleaning up the mess.
