This is a really high quality small pan. It has some weight to it and sits firmly on a very small induction hob. I have paired it with a Judge steamer lid which increases its versatility. I have tested it for boiling both milk and water for a single cup of coffee and it is faster than an 800w microwave. I have also used it to make fish stock from langoustine shells and it performed extremely well, keeping on simmer ro around 30minutes. For small quantities it is an excellent piece of equipment, ideal for single or double portions and also a small kitchen. It is ideal for boiling eggs and has useful measurement marks inside. It comes with a lifetime guarantee and in my opinion, is well worth the cost. Delivery was amazing-it arrived within 12 hours of ordering! Naturally, it needs to be treated with care, as for all stainless steel cooking utensils.

I really don't know why there are ANY negative reviews of this pan. They've obviously mistreated it. Our original was purchased about 5 years ago and I can't fault it. The handle is solid (not tubular bent metal) and riveted, not spot-welded, ergonomic and thus comfortable to hold. Both the outside AND inside has stayed beautifully shiny. If one lets it boil dry, or overheats any oil, then of course it's going to discolour. If you use metal utensils or knives, and especially scouring pads, then of course you'll scratch the surface. Don't abuse it and it'll last for years! A tip: to 500ml washing detergent liquid, if you add 2 tablespoons of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and 2 tablespoons of 'table salt' (I wouldn't waste nice sea salt or Himalayan salt, which we use for all out food) as it's cheap and you don't want to ingest it for health reasons. Then each time to wash up, give the container a good shake to thoroughly mix, and then pour as usual. It real foams up well, but above all, makes all stainless gleam!

This is my third Stellar branded product, purchased following my experience with their 20cm stainless steel non-coated frying pan, followed by a matching 18cm saucepan. I'm impressed by the build quality and their heavyweight encapsulated base, which is super efficient at conducting heat from my spiral ring electric hob. This has forced me to re-think my heat settings. Unlike some of my earlier milk pans, this one pours properly. The two lips, for left or right handed users, are wide and correctly profiled so no more messy spilled milk into a mug when making a late-night cocoa. This small milk pan is different to my other Stellars in that the handle is solid and is attached by rivets, not spot welding as are the other two. Whether this makes any difference in the long term, I don't know, but mention it just for information.
