Well built, good value for the money!
No complaints with this pump after a year of use. i live in a 155 year old Ohio farmhouse in a wet area, and with a rubblestone foundation water is going to come in at times, just have to pump it back out. Been here 34 years and have gone thru a number of pumps. My sump is small and somewhat shallow and submersibles cycle too much and I keep replacing switches, so I went back to a pedestal style which allows a wider range of control. The fact this pump is almost all stainless or cast iron signals that it should last beyond the 5 yr warranty which I also like. This pump is heavy also, which means it stands on its own and is very stable.I have no problem recommending this item.

If you have a brain a screw driver and a YouTube video you can.
Easy to install, so easy two girls and a YouTube video was all we needed, oh and a flat head screw driver. Took a couple extra trips to the hardware store, because the former home owner didn’t install the one that died correctly.

Easy To Install, Solid Pump
In our basement there is a small hole for a sump pump which only runs when needed - about 2-3 months of the year. Our first 10 years or so in the house we used a pump installed by the prior owners and when that finally died we put in a pump from Basement Watchdog which didn't even make it through a single season. We replaced the pump annually for about 5 years either through new purchases or under warranty until I finally gave up on Basement Watchdog. We have a semi-finished section of the basement with a different hole which had a pedestal pump from Superior Pump that had been working for years with no issue so decided to get a second one to replace the problematic Basement Watchdog one. The first Superior Pump is using the included float but the newest one does not and instead uses a smaller sensor to turn off/on the pump.Installation is very easy - basically hook the pump up to your piping/hose and plug it in. Depending on your setup adapter(s) may be needed to go from the pump output, but that is easily found at most hardware stores. Switching from the Basement Watchdog pump to the Superior Pump took about 30 minutes with most of the time related to me getting the piping lined up and not anything to do with the pump itself.I did need to contact Superior Pump for an issue with one of the pumps and they were exceptionally helpful. The problem was likely a defect from the start as the pump was much louder than the other I had and over time it quit pumping with any force. A couple messages were promptly exchanged to confirm the issue and troubleshoot, then a replacement pump was sent at no cost. The only minor issue I would note is that the packaging is pretty weak as others documented in their reviews. I didn't have any obvious damage when any of the pumps were shipped to me, but I can see how the packaging could be prone to damage. There is Styrofoam around the base and top of the pump and all of my pumps came inside another box which would reduce the chance of damage. Despite the packaging, I still highly recommend the pump and just recommend checking the pedestal and switch to be sure everything is intact when you receive the shipment.

BEWARE of any ITTY BITTY DEBRIS... NO BUENO!
I received the pump quickly and it looked great when I took it out of the box. Excitement abounded. The downstairs apartment in one of my rental houses had water seeping in from the neighboring, slightly higher elevated basement area, consisting of mostly dirt.I started using the pump to remove the water from the source. It functioned exactly as it was supposed to and I was able to remove the excess water. Yay!However the rain wasn’t done. I went back over about four hours later and expected to be able to efficiently remove the water as I had before. However this time, when I turned the pump on, it hummed but didn’t expel any water. I had my electrician take a look to see what was wrong. He took the unit apart and found a pebble that seemed to be confounding the proper function of the unit. He removed said pebble and once again the machine worked as desired.Fast forward to the next rain. I powered on the pump and same humming occurred with no proper function. Once again, I asked my electrician to see what he could do. This time, when he took the unit apart, there wasn’t a pebble or anything else impeding proper function. It simply would no longer work.I am writing today because once again it’s raining and I need a functioning pump. While I had ordered this unit back in June, I didn’t actually use it until a few weeks ago. I came to Amazon to inquire about a return but unfortunately my window within which to return the pump expired in July.I hate to write a negative review, I really do. I was happy with the pump initially, even though I had to have my electrician take it apart a few times. As long as the end result met my end goal, in this case being able to remove the water accumulating next door to one of my apartments before the figurative dam broke and real damage was done to not only my property, but more importantly to the ability of my tenants to live peacefully. My electrician told me, and I believe the case to be, the pebble shouldn’t have been able to make it’s way into the inner workings of the unit so easily. When the pebble did make it in, to think that it was able to gunk up the entire thing to the point that I ended up with one use, a whole lot of trouble, fifty dollars poorer and without a way to rid ourselves of this mounting water crisis. No bueno!I would have happily contacted the company directly but was provided no option to do so since my return window time frame had closed.
