Would this take 50m of 20mm cable?

depending on what type of cable, yes. I have one that has 100M of 2.5 mm pair OFHC speaker cable, rubber wrapped, that works out about 10mm diameter, but that is very flexible. if you are going to mains armoured SWA I think you would be fighting to wrap it, but yes in theory.

There is a rubber gland which is 34mm internal diameter. The metal has a 40mm diameter hole. I have 50m of 3G6 HO7-RNF on mine, and the loose end through the hole is awkward when winding it in, but at least my 32A CeeForm is easy to disassemble. You may have to cut a slot from outer edge to hole?

Top quality heavy~duty cable reel complete with winding handle

We have a large industrial quality extension cable for our very long garden~ we've struggled to find a strong enough reel for it for years; but this is perfect. Made of heavy duty coated metal; itcame ready assembled & well~packed for its journey from Bremen to here. All you had to do was take it out of it's box and lift the winding handle up and into place. It is heavy especially when loaded with cable so you might want to put it on a sturdy trolley to move about but if you find it a home in the garage you can simply unwind it rewind it from there so lifting is not then a problem
