Needs Lots of Practise
I bought this to have a go at wood burning. It's a great product and I've managed to make some semi decent pictures from it. However, it does take a lot of practise and me being as clumsy as I am, have managed to burn myself a couple of times with it. Ooops. I do take bad with having to hold it quite far away from the tip but that's just me!

but it done the job and I'm happy with the product
You have to let it get really hot for it to work properly, but it done the job and I'm happy with the product. The only down side, is that you can't hold it like a pen and can be difficult at first to use.

Four Stars
Good pen just gets hot on the handle and rubber grip slips down so be careful.

Good for straight lines but impossible for curves
It's my first time using one of these so I'm not an expert by any means. I thought it was ok but not great. .. The iron heats up well enough but if you put one of the tips on they don't heat up enough to do any real line work, making it very difficult to do anything with a curve in it, you have to press very hard so it's almost impossible to make a circle or shading etc does runes with straight lines very well!

Helped me personalise Christmas
This woodburning pen set reall has helped me to personalise Christmas, as I planned to make a lot of the smaller gifts myself, and enhance them with decoration and personal messages. The pen works great, and the variety of heads gave plenty of options for the styles and decorations. Excellent purchase, and I've realised that there a great deal more I can make and do with it.

it works fine
It was a present so I've not used it myself but I've been told it works fine. So four stars.

Not great.
Not easy to use at all. My brother borrowed it and loved the idea of pyrography, but said it was difficult to use and he burnt his fingers a few times trying to get the tips to stay firmly in place even after allowing it to cool for some time. He said you can't apply much pressure or the tip starts to become loose. And the tips don't seem to get very hot. He used it without the tips in the end. He has since bought his own model and said it is much easier to use. I have never tried using this model after his experience with it. Probably not the best option for a beginner, it might put you off all together.
