Cheaply made but it works
If you want a cheap coffee maker for camping trips and the like, this will do fine. Sure, it feels really cheaply made and you can certainly find better machines in the $20 range, but we picked this up for $15 at Dollar General to replace the broken machine in our rental unit and it got the job done. But the manual leaves out a lot of info. For starters, when you first try to open the lid it probably won't open, new plastic tends to be stiff and there are clips on either side of the lid holding it shut, so just force it open, it's fine. Next, to swing out the swing out basket, you will need to push open a clip at the back of the showerhead. Finally, to remove the basket to empty it and clean it, swing it out then lift it up, then tilt it out from the bottom. See pics below.

Good Plain Jane Coffee Maker.
Good coffee pot but not worth $20. Plain Jane $5 kind.

Regular coffee maker that makes delicious coffee without spending an arm and a leg.
Yep, imagine that. Delish coffee from a plain little brewer. I bought this model at my local Dollar General a year ago, I wanted a inexpensive take along coffeemaker for camping trips and they sell these for $12.00. I thought If it breaks, no big deal. Well, This little coffeemaker is awesome! It's better than any expensive coffee machine that I've owned with all the fancy features that never get used. It does just what it's supposed to do-you put your favorite coffee in the basket, add water and bam! Coffee!! Just like any other appliance we get duped into all these features, bells and whistles run by electrinicsThat eventually go haywire. This doesn't have a clock, or digital buttons or electronics to break, just an on and off button. You can take the pot out before it's finished brewing if your impatient. The electric cord stores neatly in the back of the unit. It hasn't clogged, it keeps the coffee nice and hot, the burner works very well, it hasn't failed me yet. If my regular coffee maker ever breaks this one will sit proudly on my counter.

we get what we pay for-
coffee makers are pretty much all the same BUT I purchased by price and received pretty much what I paid for. I very muched missed having a clock and auto shut-off but that is on me. If you like cold coffee this is the one for you.
