Works Fine, But Beware The Top Bracket
I had to remove the bracket on the top of the tool to use it to check my belt tension ('09 V-Star 1300). Also, the weight markings are very difficult to see - I had to mark over them with a Sharpie. Otherwise , fit for purpose.

You Need a Belt Tension Gauge
It does what it's intended for and while I can't be sure of it's 10-Lbs accuracy I'm sure it is more accurate then using your finger pressure and a short ruler to judge poundage and 5/8 to 3/4 inch of movement, which is why I own a few of these after Harley introduced belt drive mid season 1984. I've been working on m/c way before belt drive replaced the chain and so I didn't use or felt I needed a tool like that for many years until my own judgement was questioned by a co-worker and I was off by a few pounds when I flexed the belt. They are inexpensive enough to own two, one for your garage tool box and the other to carry with you when you ride because they're small enough to fit even into a small tool bag.
