Sturdy shelf that is easy to assemble
I have a very shallow closet that is only 13 inches deep, so this shelving unit fit perfectly. Unlike a previous metal shelving unit I got from Amazon (that I ended up returning), this one is very sturdy and the metal is thick and well painted. No chipped paint or dings when I opened the box. The boards that hold your things do not screw in and lay on top of the support brackets, but they are thick enough so that I can put a heavy sewing machine or full storage tote on it and not have to worry about it bending. Assembly is easy and you just snap things into place, although you definitely need a mallet or hammer with rubber tip so that the support bars go all the way down. Great shelving unit!

Perfect, study shelves
I love the variety of sizes offered. I only got two shelving sets but will definitely come back if we decide we need more. Assembly was very easy - I did end up using a hammer to get the plastic caps on the top and bottoms of the legs but just put a piece of cardboard between and it was good to go. My mom and I put both shelving units together in under 30 minutes. They are so solid and simple to put together. They came with a "Free gift" of plastic hooks that fit into the legs. They clip on at any part you need and were so useful for organizing backpacks, I thought I might order a pack of them separately if they sell them.

Actually impressive, mostly
They're shelves, how bad could they be, right? The answer of course is "very very bad." But these shelves are very much not. I put these kind of shelves into two categories: so good that they're impossible to put together (and cost a fortune,) and so bad they won't stay together (yet somehow still cost a fortune.) Homedant has managed to find a pretty good balance between the two with these. The packaging was genuinely well thought out, and they arrived undamaged - something that doesn't happen often with shelves like these. Either because they weigh 200lbs or they use paper instead of cardboard. But these are the smallest shelves, so your mileage may vary. They did think to put thick corrugated cardboard between parts that might be scratched or broken. They come with instructions. You really won't need them. As soon as you get the parts out, everything makes obvious sense. Peel off the plastic bits and stick them on sharp edges. Bang uprights and horizontals with a large rubber mallet until they're seated. Drop laminate shelf in. It definitely is awkward to do solo, but not impossible. You can mix and match flat, lip, and slant as you please without any part of it requiring a PhD in mechanical engineering. Spacing of the mounts is also great because it gives a lot of flexibility in configuration.Obviously the big question is: how do they look and how sturdy are they? The black finish and laminate on the shelves arrived with no scratches and was very consistent. That's really all you care about there. As far as sturdiness? Once assembled they definitely don't want to come apart easily, but it wants to sway when you're moving it or you push hard on it. And the shelf boards on mine were probably a quarter inch short on two sides so they want to move around. But once I installed the shelf boards and added some weight, it did feel much more stable. They claim 264lbs per shelf, and the framing definitely feels up to the task, but the boards very much do not and definitely want to move around in the frame. That's my biggest complaint.Still, I feel like it's a good quality shelf for what I paid and what I use it for. The engineering on these is quite good, so I don't have concerns about the frame. But if you're loading it up more, I would probably suggest using the included wall anchors or possibly stronger boards.

Easy to put together!!!!
Well painted, sturdy, great looking storage shelf! The shelves can be either the wood grain or whichever solid color frame you get just flip them over! Lip on edge is great or you can flip to have no lip. Super easy!! I will be purchasing more!!

Easy assembly; Great quality
After reading through several reviews for several different shelving units I decided on this one and so glad I did for 3 major reasons:1) Easy assembly with no tool required - although I found a rubber mallet helpful.2) Great quality materials and once put together feels like a substantial piece of shelving that will hold some serious weight.3) Love the variations of how to arrange the shelving - didn’t realize it before purchasing but was delighted to find that I could create 4 different shelf options to fit my needs.I highly recommend this product and would definitely purchase it again.

It is what it says, no surprises
Though the materials seem lightweight, the shelf unit is sturdy and strong. It seems well engineered with efficient use of materials for its intended purpose. It was easy to put together.Though the shelves themselves seem like pretty cheap material, and are laminated with some cheap surface material for looks ("wood"), they are fine for utilitarian purposes. I don't know how long the surfaces would hold up under frequent movement of heavier objects.....For the price, I am very satisfied with the unit.
