Since our acrylic pan was pretty well aged and in need of some serious help
After reading a lot of reviews, I was a little worried about this product. Since our acrylic pan was pretty well aged and in need of some serious help, I figured this couldn't really make it any worse. I spent at least 6 hours just prepping the pan before applying this product. I cleaned with multiple cleaners and an aggressive scouring pad to remove all remnants of soap and caulk. I used some 100 grit sand paper and water to get the surface roughed up then switched to 400 grit to smooth out the deep scratches. Washed again with water, then alcohol, finally TSP prep for paint. I used blue painters tape all the way around the perimeter to keep the paint off the floor and wall.Mixing:This product comes in 2 cans, one quart can with the color and one small can with the clear activator. ***be prepared with open windows and MULTIPLE fans...this stuff stinks*** One nice thing is there is room in the quart can to pour in the activator and mix in the can. You have to go slow or it does splash a little while it's unmixed and thin. Once mixed, it becomes more of a "latex" paint consistency.Painting:I used a mini foam roller to apply to my shower pan. This went on just like paint and adhered to the acrylic base without issue. It did tend to run down the sloped/vertical sides. Luckily the paint was not too quick to set, so I cleaned up the runs easily. I bought the roller handle and a 6 pack of foam refills for this job and was glad to have them. I just tossed the roller in between coats so I didnt have to worry about cleaning or storing it. I ended up with one blemish that I didnt notice while painting. I had a small bump where something got on the roller and was painted on the floor of the pan. I didnt notice it while wet, so it's a permanent addition to the floor now. I would recommend using a flashlight or something to shine over the floor while it's wet to try and highlight anything that you need to remove and touch up before the paint sets. I did 2 coats and still had over half a can left (shower pan 36x36). The paint was still usable after about 8 hours with the lid on the can, but set up rock solid after about 24 hours.Drying:The paint takes about an hour to really set and stays soft for several hours. The smell is there for several days. Once dry, the pan looks like new. The finish of this paint is glossy and smooth, so if you use it on a pan or tub, be prepared for it being somewhat slippery.Final:After using the shower for several weeks now, it still looks like new.

From hideous flower stains to a nearly brand-new appearance
I wish I'd taken pictures to show you how the Rustoleum biscuit color changed my fiberglass bathtub's appearance. Ongoing work problems had created malaise, and my tub’s cleanliness deteriorated; this admission might help others decide to undertake this project. Initially, I had shoveled up large purple-flowering weeds along a road and intended to plant them in my yard. Instead, they wilted in my tub, and rust-like and black stains were left behind. Nothing removed these stains afterwards. Crunch time came when I decided to move and placed my home on sale.My bathtub’s new appearance lay entirely in the product quality and my careful prep work beforehand. Between two to three hours were expended to clean and sand the tub with fine grit sandpaper as I sat within it: scrubbing, washing, and rinsing the tub thoroughly after passes with a scrub sponge and a hard toilet brush, using gritty scrub products, soap, and bleach; the sanding followed. This was followed by multiple rinses with a sponge to remove all cleaning product and sandpaper grit. To be sure, the stained appearance was diminished, but the areas remained. The tub was dried with clean towels. When truth time came with the paint, it poured on readily, smoothly, and covered the whole mess up. My friend and I couldn't believe how easily the awful stains were covered. The paint did not part away or fall into lines. Its texture was thick and creamy. Using a paintbrush (no rollers were used) where the slightly bumpy - for traction - bottom surface met the front, sides, and rear helped distribute the paint evenly. The paint itself poured nicely over the scrubbed and sanded bath tub and those stains. A bathroom vent window was opened and a floor fan was placed nearby. Checking it within an hour proved the paint had dried, without tackiness, but I didn't want to chance it with more work, and the tub dried overnight. The second paint coat was applied the next morning without problems, which was a slight departure from the directions to apply it sooner after the first coat. The experience of watching the tub paint actually work to cover the stains, fill in small chips, and appear so polished was unbelievable to us.Many months of hot showers later, among the whole rigmarole of using a dumpster, packing, carrying, and cleaning, the tub paint result was the most exciting and gratifying occasion for me. This brand of tub paint has my whole-hearted seal of approval. Just spend the requisite time scrubbing, sanding, rinsing, and drying, and the rest is easy.
