Great Product
As there were no reviews I thought I was taking a chance buying this card, I should have bought it ages ago, it is truly amazing! I have previously used Pinnacle AV/DV and various USB copy to PC devices and different price points, they all had pulling at the top/bottom of the screen plus moving scan lines and iffy picture quality. This card has none of these issues, the picture is rock steady, no pulling and no scan lines plus the quality of the picture is excellent. It has a 3D comb so the colours are excellent and even on old tapes the picture is rock solid with no glitches and excellent quality.

Better than USB capture products but..
First off just in case you are unsure this mini video capture card requires your motherboard to have the minimum of a spare PCI-EXPRESS X1 slot (gen.1) and includes a low profile bracket should you need it. It has S-VHS (S-Video) IN, RED, WHITE,(audio channels) YELLOW(composite) RCA In. There was no CD-ROM provided only a simple paper manual and a link to download drivers and software. The lack of features in the software forced me to try others. If you have Adobe Premiere it may be a big improvement and possibly unlock this little cards full potential. There really needs to be a fan based website dedicated to getting the most out of this small but powerful capture card. The aftersales support from AverMedia was not particularly helpful but I did not expect too much for an older product however, it was not difficult to find user based experiences and reviews which prompted me to try different software. The card itself is rock solid and I intend to use it to backup my tape collection. Results will most likely vary greatly depending on the playback device in use. For example my Shatsui VCR is probably letting me down after all it is 20+ years old. So far I have been impressed with the PAL VHS copies to AVI and MPEG. I expect playback of NTSC tapes will be good enough, unfortunately my VCR does not support my S-VHS tapes so I will edit my review at a later date when I have found a suitable donor VCR. My first experience with this card was not good but do not let that be a detractor in deciding if you should purchase. At first I could not preview video only record using the capture software and quickly discovered that the driver was conflicting with a Windows codec pack. After installing different versions of the driver to no effect the solution was to uninstall the offending codec pack and I could finally preview my videos. Overall I was impressed with the video previews and playback of my recordings as it was much better quality than the other USB capture devices I had tried. I put this down to the 3D Y/C separation. A demo of this can be seen on the manufacturers website. Conclusion: Slightly over priced but makes up for it if you can find the right software to open up this little card's full potential.

Very pleased
Meant to review this ages ago. Have converted some VHS to digital files on the computer, it works really well. AverMedia provide free software for this card which does a great job producing the video files. Fully Win 10 compatible. The video is clear, stable and with good colour and sound, even from composite. Really pleased I paid the extra to get this card.

Sort of works but...
its own capture program was basic. No filter (sharpness, brightness etc) options or no way to capture other than pure uncompressed when I wanted to use Huffy or similar. It works better with VirtualDub but it doesn't remember the filter settings. It resets as soon as you capture. Very annoying! At least it did capture to using Huffy in it. Had to return it due to no response from AverMedia support.

Does Not Work With Commercial VHS Tapes
Quality is much better than the best selling USB capture device but it should be made clear that this is unsuitable for digitising commercial VHS tapes because the hardware blocks anything with Macrovision protection.

Unreliable on my Windows 10 64 bit PC
This card was unreliable on my PC. Capture from analog video tapes suffered from lots of drop-outs. Sometimes the card was not even found by the capture software. This was true for several capture programmes that I tried (including Avermedia's own app). I dug out and installed my 15-year old Pinnacle PCI-500 card, which worked very much better. I have uninstalled the Avermedia card and removed it. Sadly, it was a waste of money.

Gute Karte
Also alles bestens. Gerne jeder Zeit wieder volle 5 Sterne

Very good for transferring old VHS to digital format
This works way better than USB based devices out there. It is more stable and has much better quality, especially for old damaged VHS. It does cost more but if you don't have luck with Elgato etc this would be one to try.

This is [...] AVerMedia Technical Support team. We don’t have stable Linux driver for CE310B at the moment.[...]"
