I have been doing a lot of research and these seem to be the best bang for your buck. I was a bit sceptical because this was a new product, however I was very satisfied. The glass is fully transparent (and not full of bubbles or nicks like many others that I've tried). I would think that they are more safe that the many other options out there. Also, the handle is great and is easy to use. I would highly recommend trying these weights. I am sure that the only reason why they are priced more cheaply than the other products, is because they are new and would like people to try them out.

Exactly what I was looking for. Good quality glass

I use these for my fermented bananas. Work great. I also use them to hold frozen items down in the water to thaw quickly. These are good. My jars are wide mouth quart.

I tested all 4 weights with a couple different wide mouth jars. All fit easily in the Mason brand 32 oz jars. When it came to the Ball brand 16 oz jars, only 2 slid easily in and out. A 3rd would occasionally catch just below the rim, but was able to be dislodged. The fourth had real problems with the 16 oz jars, it got seriously stuck every time, and took much maneuvering to get free. I've marked that one. So they don't seem to all be cast to the same tolerances, some can be larger or out of round.For anyone else who might have also been considering possibly repurposing these as sous vide weights, there's a note on the side of the box, "not intended for heat processing".

The weights are just a bit too big. The 2 I used got stuck in the wide mouth mason jar and I lost my contents as well as the jar and the weight. The other weights...different brand don't get stuck....I'd return but don't want the hassle so I throwing them out so I don't ruin my efforts on my next batch.

I have a different set of weights that work well, but are a royal pain to put in and remove from mason jars.These have a nice crown on the center post, making it much easier to put in and remove from a ferment. These even work well with wet fingers. I am very happy with these weights.

Just got into making sourkraut and bought these as I struggled to keep it under the brine line. As long as you keep them high enough to pinch with your fingers you can easily remove them.

Sept 11, 2023 UPDATE: Brewing America reached out to me and offered a refund based on my review. That puts their Customer Service at 5 stars for me. Based on their response and a couple of really nice things about these weights, I'm changing my Overall rating to 3 stars. The weights are a really good, heavy weight for fermentation. And the knobs work very well and are easy to grab by hand or tongs. Other buyers are very happy with their weights and didn't have the same problems mine did. Hopefully, my experience with these weights was an uncommon manufacturing glitch. Based on my positive experience with their customer service, I'd say they're worth a try.Sept 8, 2023 Review: While these weights fit the wide mouth 24 oz Ball canning jar, they do NOT fit into the wide mouth 64 oz jar. Since this is my preferred fermentation container, these weights are almost useless to me. Additionally, two of the weights arrived with chips around the top edge. This was difficult to photograph but in the weight side-view photo you can see the sharp, chipped edge at the top right. Another photo is the weight sitting in the mouth of my 2 qt jar and obviously too big to fit inside. The bottom of the glass flares out just enough to keep the weight from fitting into the neck of the jar. Perhaps the glass slumped during production. The top-view photo shows the Brewing America logo to indicate that I received the actual listed product. Brewing America advertises that most of its products are made in the US. It's a misleading advertising claim. On their website, many reviewers misunderstand and assume everything they make is American made. The box has an American flag and says "Designed in America" but these do not list any origin on the box, in paperwork, on the website or on the product. They almost certainly were made in China as the Amazon listing states way down in the listing info. That may not bother you. I was prepared to receive a Chinese-made product because they were supposed to be high quality, soda lime glass. The flared bottom (making them too big for my 2 qt jar) and chippy top edge means I won't use them.

Received the glass weights in a good package. I havent used them yet but it looks like made from a good quality glass.

Very satisfied with this product! The customer service from Brewing Canada was excellent and fast too as they immediately sent me a replacement item as one of the weight was chipped right out of the box.
