G.I. Joe Reaction Wave 4 - Trooper Beard (Dk Brown) Classic Collectibles and Retro Toys

When I was a child I loved GI Joe, both the toys and the television show. I ordered this figure more out of nostalgia than anything else. I should note that I don't generally collect toys or anything of that sort.The packaging seems slightly larger than I remember, but the figure is the same, aside from the kung-fu grip arms introduced a year or two after I became obsessed with the toys.The same character card can be cut out and saved (I still have a box of these at my parent's house in the attic), and the figure's plastic and accessories feel exactly as I remember.My only slight complaint is that I don't believe this character is an original GI Joe character. I remember Grunt, but it was a different figure. That would be the figure this is closer to. I know later on, more detailed characters were introduced, but I mainly collected the first series, which, if I remember correctly, was rather small (maybe ten figures).On the other hand, it's possible this figure is true for a period I'm not familiar with. At any rate, the nostalgia value is high, and if you're looking to relive a little bit of the 1980s, this will do nicely!

You know what you get with Super7. Lots of properties, cool packaging, and limited articulation. This GI Joe figure is very much in line with that. It looks great, and there are a lot of varieties available, so you can get something that really looks cool with your other boxed toys.But, as an actual toy? It's, again, what you'd expect from Super7. Very cool looking, but with limited movement. Less articulation that even the Joes from the era this is emulating. So, you could get by, but you'd be better off getting some CORPS or something if you want a toy for a kid to play with.That's not Super7's market, though. This is for adult collectors, and the only folks likely to take this out of the box would be kit bashers or something. This is 100% the item that it's target consumers need it to be!

I purchased this for my son. He's still 10 months old, but as he gets older he will be able to play with it. For right now, it's sitting in his room on a high shelf where he can't get it just yet. It will be on display until he's able to use it. It does say 14+ but when I took it out, it seemed suitable enough for a child even younger than that. The head isn't loose, so it can't be pulled off easily (yup, I tried my hardest to pull it off for testing & safety purposes!), the legs & arms are attached well, and the feet & hands are connected to each limb appropriately. The only loose piece is the gun, which will be placed to the side for safety reasons, until he is old enough to play with it. If I had to put an age on this toy, I would say 7+ to be safe. By that time, they're pretty independent and mature enough to know how to play appropriately with it. In regards to the look of the G.I. Joe, I think he looks great. Each detail is accurate & the look is wonderful. I'm very happy with my purchase & I would gift this to any collector or child.

Reminds me off the good 'ole 80's.G.I. Joe was a main show in the 1980's and it was a fun item to surprise my husband with. He was one of the many to play with these characters as a kid and this brought back all the memories!The box was very much like the ones in the past. Upon seeing this, it is very nostalgic. The figure itself does not seem to be anyone in particular. It just names him as G.I. Joe Trooper Infantry. The colors are nice, he bends at the arms and hips. Included is one G.I. Joe Trooper character, his weapon, and his information on the back of the box. A fun character for those 14 + and will bring you back your childhood.A great stocking or basket stuffer.

Big fan of G.I. Joe figures. I collect them and seen this one. This Wave 4 - Trooper Beard is a retro toy that looks like what you would get in the 70s, 80. That style of figure. You get that kinda limited articulation with it which is fine. I won’t be playing with it, it’s going to be hanging on the wall. Super7 makes a lot of these retro figures which are close to how they originally came out back in the day. Great piece for a fan of the show or a collector.
