Fernox56608 1L F5 Powerflushing Cleaner

Worked a treat, just partly drained down system to empty header tank and then added via a hose to the header tank inlet to make sure it went straight into circulation.

Advised by a plumber to use F5 and leave in for a week. Left in for 9 days, flushed out with water and what a difference it has made to heat transfer. Very pleased with it.

Good stuff to use certainly gets magnetism out. It's a bit pricey but not used that often.

An old rusty boiler was removed and the naughty heating engineer failed to clean out the pipe-work properly. Ended up with reducing the life of the boiler and early replacement. However meanwhile Fernox were very helpful and even as an amateur, I managed to clear the pipes through quite a lot and kept if going for some years. Do not allow you heating engineers to be so neglectful although now with the recommended filters available - it is easier to manage. Took a lot to clean thoroughly though and some unscrupulous might have suggested renewing pipe-work but I have an old cottage and not a good idea really. So good news in the end - thank you Fernox.
