Makita DUR183LZ 18V Li-Ion LXT Brushless Linetrimmer - Batteries and Charger Not Included

Anyone who uses Makita LXT products know that they're good and the 18v batteries really are second to none in my honest opinion.The strimmer itself is really good and works pretty well. It works better than most mains electric strimmers but although it looks more like the petrol powered variety it doesn't have quite as much grunt as them. It's much lighter weight and I found that you can use it comfortably for a long time without the supplied harness/ strap. The batteries last forever - I only used half the juice from a single 4.0Ah battery to do my mum's whole overgrown lawn and edges - probably 45 minutes of heavy going use. For all of these reasons it should probably get 5 stars but I'm going to be harsh on it because the auto-feed doesn't work very well (it's easier to stop the strimmer and press the plunger whilst pulling the line when you need to let out more. And something that really bugs me about it... the speed controller moves really easily and I knock it with my elbow every 3 or 4 minutes of use which slows the speed and you need top stop tip turn it back up. I don't know why they bother with speed control on it because there's some control through the trigger switch anyway and, to be honest, it needs to be on highest speed most odd the time anyway! I've blue-tacked the speed knob into position to try top stop it moving.

The performance is better than the petrol trimmer I had. This batter device is light easy to use, has plenty of battery life and cuts better than my old petrol trimmer. The cut of the grass is cleaner and neater. Because the trimmer is light it's easy for me to manoeuvre so I get a more precise cut along my flower beds. Very happy.

Been looking for a new trimmer to replace cheap corded flymo I use many Makita tools so have plenty of batteries so for me it’s ideal. Easy to assemble and it’s impressed me with its performance and weight

Great for small to medium gardens. Easy to use and no cord what more could you want

This product is just great light weight compared to my petrol strimmer quite runs well on a 3amp battery would recommend to anyone

Love it, just 3A battery last about 10-15min, so need 2x batteries definitely when using this equipment!Just annoying to sit and wait 40min until 1x battery charges again.
