can i use it without the internet connection?

You need it connected to your home PC, so a local connection is required. If a game runs without internet connection, however, you can also run it on steam link (But steam still has to connect your PC and TV).

What steam games does it work with?

The steam link works with all games on steam. Also non-steam games which you have added to the list will work. Steam games that are not supported by default (or partially supported) need to have their keys mapped to the controller first. A relatively simple process.

can you use discord chat with the steam link?

You can map the steam controller to any key or combination of keys on your computer. If there is a shortcut to open the discord chat, then yes, you can. You can test this by going into big picture mode on steam on your PC, and then trying to open discord while staying in big picture mode.

Works but costs way to much for what you get.

Can't use different controllers at ones, at £200 it costs more than an nvidia shield that dose the same thing and has smart tv functions. This product was £40 before it was discontinued.
