Excellent, highly recommended (review after only 3 days of using it)
You can't feel it when you're sitting, but it actually has a board at the back of this cushion -- a thin one, though. This and a riser cushion I bought for my old recliner and old body have relieved nearly all of the intense pain I had every time I got up from the chair and within only 3 days. I did a few exercises each day, but the improvement is mostly due to far better support and posture. Highly recommended. If it deteriorates after a year, I'd buy another one -- but not if it doesn't maintain well for at least a year.

Affordable and does the job perfectly!
I got into a car accident 4 years ago, so I would get really sored and/or get bad back pains whenever I sit in a seat with bad/no back support for a long time. When I started my new job 5 months ago I immediately went out and search for a back support for my chair because I basically have to sit in it for almost 6 hours a day, 6 days a week. I wanted something affordable, firm, and the perfect shape to fit my back so it would be comfortable to use all day, everyday. And, this Duro-Med back support met all of my criteria! For less than $20, this back support not only looks nice, it fits perfectly and so comfortably with your back that you might forget it's there. I don't know why so many people complained about the firmness, the firmness is perfect enough to help you sit up straight and it doesn't make you feel like you're sitting up against a cement wall. I love everything about this product and I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to learn how to sit up straight and anyone who gets back sores after sitting down for too long!

Long-time back pain -- finally, RELIEF!
I suffer from severe scoliosis and sitting, standing, well, really just about anything for long periods of time is difficult for me. I have metal rods and hardware in my upper curve, but nothing corrective in my lower curve. I also have a job that requires me to sit at a desk for long periods while I work on my computer, and over time, I started to develop awful tension headaches and equally awful lower back fatigue. I was using a pillow I brought from home to help support my lower back but after a while, it eventually lost its shape. I even started to use a lumbar support back brace to try to help ease my pain -- it helped a little, but it also made it difficult for me to breathe or eat anything beyond a few bites without feeling like I had removed any room for my stomach to expand. I finally caved and decided to try a lumbar support. I purchased the cheapest one I could find through our office supply company and it was......disappointing to say the least. It was literally a piece of foam with an excessively long and flimsy piece of elastic. I decided to try again but when I went to look at some of the better lumbar supports offered through the same office supply company, they were ridiculously expensive. I hopped on Amazon to see what I could find when I came across the Duro-Med Relax-a-Bac lumbar support. Based upon the positive reviews and price, I decided to give it a go. I'm so glad I did. When I first got the lumbar support, it came with a wooden removable board inserted into the back to help it maintain its shape and firmness. I placed it in my chair with the board still inserted and was immediately regretful that I had made yet again, another bad purchase. It wasn't until I removed the board that I felt relief. (I'm guessing my office chair works better without the board, but I think the board will be useful should I need to take the support elsewhere.) Today is the first day I have gone all day without wearing my back brace and getting a terrible headache half way through the day! I'm still a little shocked to be honest. I could breathe. I could eat. I actually sat like a normal person without developing gradual nerve pain. I highly recommend this lumbar support because of its price, versatility, and because it actually works. It offers great alignment without throwing you out of your seat or hyper-extending your lower back. This product is definitely a winner.

A Product That Really Works for Me
This lower back lumbar support cushion has been a real back saver for me. I use it every day in both the personal vehicle and the work truck. It makes a huge difference on long drives. I have had this for about three years now and it still looks and feels new. Not expensive, durable, and comfortable. Keeps my lower spine in the correct position. I am quite uncomfortable on the days that I forget to transfer it from one vehicle to the next. I should mention that I do not use the elastic strap and I believe it would fail quickly if I did. Although it may slide around a bit and some more expensive alternatives may not; for my money this is the right combination of effectiveness, durability and price. Update 07/09/2017: I purchased in Nov 2014 and it has been used almost everyday since. It is finally showing some signs of wear at the bottom of the cover (2 small holes) still impressed given the low cost.

Has a good taper off the top, but sides cut into kidney's. Makes a better bottom cushion instead.
I like how it tapers off at top so you don't feel a sharp going across your back. But the sides cut into your kidney area. And that hurts bad after awhile. Probably not good for your kidney's either. Just like my old DxRacer chair with winged sides that just got annoying. The bottom part of the cushion curves under itself a bit. I suppose to fit your butt? Except I don't know anyone who actually sits in that clinical form at all. So basically you don't feel any hip support and all the wight goes right into your lower ribcage or the kidneys. It's constantly making me want to push the cushion down farther into the seat. Except it won't go any farther down. The fabric quality doesn't seem that great either. I can't say how well it holds up over time yet. The back of it has open overlapping cloth without any zipper. It doesn't even have a seam sewn into it. And when you open that you find a hard piece of particle board. I suppose for stability. But the wood just cuts into the fabric when in use. And feels like it will rip right through it very soon. So I took that out. And all of the above is still an issue. That said. Without the wood in it, this cushion works better as an actual seat for your bottom. By sitting directly on it instead of using it for your back. Update: After 7 years I still have this cushion and it's one of the more useful ones I ever owned. Although not great for it's intended purpose, it's been a great sleeping aid, a great cushion for legs on a foot rest, and even a floor seat. The quality has held up even though the material didn't feel like it would. Rather impressed by it.

Perfect support
Pro's, Board in the back for stability, Foam is the right amount and density to do what you want it to Con's, The built in strap could be adjustable to fit larger chairs I recently purchased this back support pillow after much research to find the best pillow for my lower back when sitting in my office chair. When I got this pillow I couldn't help feeling like Goldie Locks that it was "Just Right", No matter the chair or how much lumbar support it says it has I always have to have an additional pillow of some kind for my lower back for support. After using this pillow for a couple weeks I love how it is just the right amount of support for the arch without being to much. I love how it cradles my lower back actually reducing some of my back paid because the pressure is off my back. Regular pillows have a tendency to be to much or they flatten after a period of time. One of the other features that I love is the board inside at the back. This helps it to keep it's shape and also to stay put in the chair. My chair is larger around on the back so I'm unable to use the strap to hold it to the chair so the fact that it stays put on it's own is really nice. If your looking for that perfect pillow stop and look no further this is the one for you.

Use it daily
I am very pleased with this support. Not too expensive and it has improved my back pain as I now use it daily whether sitting in an upright dinning chair or on the sofa. I've even used it in a camping chair. I believe it's also available in different colours but I bought the burgundy as it blends in with the sofa.

Have been using this for six months or so and it isnt showing any signs of wear. The strap is quite big so goes over my highback chair at work. Touch wood no twinging back for the last six months either.
