Roberts ORTUS2BK DAB+/DAB/FM Alarm Clock Radio with USB Smartphone Charging - Black

This is a superb Roberts DAB clock radio - almost Art Deco in style with good proportions, buttons and display. I still have a previous silver CRD-26 Robert DAB semi-circular clock radio purchased in 2007, which has lasted the test of time. This ORTUS 2 model is much improved and looks very neat and compact. I particularly like the ability to turn off the display completely at night with the one-button control to view the time if need be.in pitch darkness. There are many other improvements in this model and I genuinely believe this to be the best clock radio I have ever purchased.

Very pleased with the radio as per description nice and neat white looks good next to my fitted bedroom furniture sound quality is superb couldn’t be happier with the radio. However I am a little less impressed with Amazon‘s delivery service it arrived without packaging so if you can imagine the radio in a box as you look at it on the shelf, It was that box with a sticker with my address on it that was left by my front door I was out at the time of delivery and Amazon were under instructions to leave it in my unlocked front porch and it was left on my driveway in full view of anybody walking past with Roberts radio on the box in full view so anyone could’ve taken that I am so disappointed I rang up customer services but there was nothing they could do appalling service

The radio is very good quality and the sound and display are excellent. The controls have a good quality and feel. Two things spoil it for me:- there’s no auto dim, which is expected at this price. This makes it difficult to live with as DIM setting is perfect in the dark, but invisible once it gets light. The MEDIUM setting is too bright at night. It takes multiple button presses to switch between the two.- setting the alarm is very clunky as you can’t easily turn it on/off and it takes at least 13 button/knob presses/tweaks to set a new one off alarmMy previous £15 unit did all this with ease

We are really thrilled with this clock radio. It does everything we want it to do.perfect.

Going to sleep with one station and waking up with another.Also you can preset different dimmers for when it's on or off.

This was a present for my 90 year old dad - he loves it. Clock very clear and easy to set up.

I have slightly mixed feelings about this bedside radio. It makes a great sound and like all Roberts products is well made. It is though perhaps overly complex, and when one reaches for one of the many buttons when bleary eyed in the middle of the night, it is too easy to accidentally send it irretrievably deep into one of the many adjustment menu's rather than just switch it on/off/adjust volume or change channel which is likely all you are going to need at 3am.

Very easy to set up. I like the digital volume and brightness controls. Very useful as a bedroom radio/alarm.

It did not come with an Australian power adapter and the first time I used the alarm function it failed to work, no sound. A light tap with a finger got the sound to work but only lasted a few seconds.I have sent it back and after 8 days I am still waiting for my refund.
