Plain, simple and above all, practical
This books gives a very practical introduction to the new regulations and explains clearly the key points that your compliance programme will need to address. The plain English translation of the recitals and articles in the appendix is particularly useful to those of us not familiar with the specific legal language used in the EU. There are, no doubt, areas where organisations will need much more specific detail about their own circumstances but, as a plain-speaking guide to how to structure a programme or series of projects, this book excels.

It is a Good Highlevel Overview, but you will need more than this in your business
A really good starting point and a good high level review of things to consider. It would have been nice to see more content on a review of the articles and a little more detail in some of the sections, but I appreciate GDPR is a big topic areas and it is likely that you will buy several books and this one may well be in your collection for reference. On a downside a little more proof reading may have been nice and a little more effort in formatting would not go a miss, but a good self published book

Good project-based aproach
Interesting way to meet compliance. This is a project based approach and includes the main parts of the regulations that will save you downloading and printing them. Very helpful.

Proper crap
The worst book ever written. Copied the GDPR Regulation verbatim. In other area's spaced out to fill in the blank pages. Fraudulent to say the least. Don’t waste your money I threw mine in the bin

A huge disappointment
I really can't help but feel cheated by this book. At close to 300 pages I expected a lot of practical advice. However, of that 300 pages, 120 are simply a verbatim copy of the GDPR regulations themselves. The same regulations you can download for free online. Of those 300 pages only 90 or so seem to be original content (once prefaces, indexes and such are accounted for). The 90 pages you do get have the biggest margins you have ever seen, a massive type face and spacing that is is obviously intended to bulk out what is effectively a very, very short guide to a hugely complex topic. The content that is there is ok as a lightweight introduction. However, after reading through it in an evening I am now left looking for something else to deal with the actual intricacies of implementation. As an example there are 2 pages on consent - 2 pages with huge type and margins. I've seen entire chapters devoted to this in other books. All in all this book will end up on the shelf and probably never looked at again. Very disappointing indeed.

Vague & Incomplete
For the most part this book attempts to paraphrase the Regulation itself. That risks it being vague and incomplete at best, and inaccurate at worst. It offers little of value over and above what one would get from downloading the GDPR itself and reading it. It is too long to be an summary of the main points of the GDPR, but too inaccurate to be a substitute for the GDPR itself. It offers little by way of analysis, interpretation, or strategies for implementation. So I'm not sure what the point of it is.

Good and well structured, but a short book
Good well structured, but a short book, i wish it would go more in depth with some subjects, and be more aware of specifics, like "The GDPR requires you to report any security breach promptly", well yes but a bit more accurate would be to say within 72 hours, and it avoids some complicated technicalities. But it certainly brings some good pointers and general overview to the table. The book's title is somewhat misleading, as it does not take you by your hand and guides you to safe solutions, which would require a lot more in depth. But it certainly sheds light on most points and culprits. The book starts off really well and sets the scope well, how to prepare for the GDPR implementations. But in some areas it leaves you hanging in regards of how to approach it. Fx: pseudonymisation, it explains what it means but leaves it there. It covers most areas, but again on the surface. Communication and awareness is really well explained with some nice pointers. Responsibilities between the controller and the processor are well explained, but then suddenly interrupted by the need of a DPO, which certainly deserves a chapter for itself. When is it required to have a DPO? It does not explain clearly when it is required to have a DPO.Overall a really good book well worth its cost to start your journey on to make your organization GDPR compliant. Further reading is required though.

Great Resource on GDPR Compliance
Having no knowledge about GDPR, I found this book to be very beneficial in helping me coming up to speed. I also contacted the author with some questions. Mark answered my email the next day!!! Since I had never contacted an author, I was completely surprised!! The book is written to the point and provides a good overview with examples! I recommend it to anyone who is needs to have information on GDPR. Great Resource!
