It’s all about 10 cloverfeild.The 2nd dvd cloverfield, I did not rate at all.There is no comparison to the 1st dvd.Would I buy cloverfield by itself, NO!Would I recommend 10 cloverfield to you YES!

One of those movies that I could watch over and over again. I really like the plot twists. Good script writing. Recommended.

This is a two-film set, and includes “Cloverfield” (2008) and “10 Cloverfield Lane” (2016). Both films are set within the same fictional universe, sharing a continuity, yet each offers a distinct story. The first film – presented as ‘lost footage’ (from camcorder recordings) – is set with the survival horror genre; while the second film – adopting a standard approach to movie presentation – is more of a psychological thriller. Both involve science fiction.The first movie concerns several New York City residents who are having a party, when suddenly a gigantic monster attacks the city – and everyone is forced to flee. The second movie is about a young woman who awakens after a car accident to find herself trapped in an underground bunker – with her captor telling her that the outside world has been decimated by aliens.Each film has been reviewed separately elsewhere. I will simply add that I found both movies to be enjoyable – in different ways. The original “Cloverfield” is full of suspense – as a few people desperately try to escape the carnage caused by monsters. The sequel is more dramatic, and – being confined to a bunker – creates a sense of claustrophobia. Both films rely on the skill of the actors to convey the dread being experienced, rather than depending on lots of CGI special effects … indeed, very little of the alien monsters is seen.I recommend this box set to viewers who don’t already own either of the films. If you’re a sci-fi fan, and enjoy dark, acting-driven movies, then I think you’ll like these films.
