What size is best to get for two adults. 60L or 90L. Normal weekly clothes usage.

Two adults here - we are using 2x 60 litre and we're finding that is working very nicely in conjunction with an 8kg capacity washing machine that does 2-3 weekly washes. And by 'nicely' I mean it doesn't overflow, but there's always a filled compartment ready for the next wash. I think the biggest thing to consider is - will you also be using this for towels as well, or just clothes? If just clothes - you might get away with having a single 60 litre between the two of you...but 90 litre would be a safe bet!

Realistically, what volume of clothing does the 60l cater for - would it be suitable for a family of three?

We use it for two adults it's a great looking item however I would go for the large one for 3 people

Can this washing basket be put in the wash if it gets dirty?

The inner fabric bags can be easily washed, and come away from their plastic rims fairly easily. The outer fabric surrounding the basket probably could be washed, but you'd have to dismantle the basket structure and they're a right pain to put back together! I'd probably opt for cleaning the outside with a wet cloth instead.
