Excellent - get it!
My son has it fixed to this computer desk and seems to be loving it. I've fiddled about with it and seems to be sturdy, with precise positioning control.

Excellent value for money.
This boom is from the Amazon Basics range, but it is excellent value provided that you don't use a microphone heavier than 1 kg that is mounted horizontally (see photo). Each of the two arms is 14 inches (36 cm) long with a 3/8 inch threaded connection, and a 3/8 inch to 5/8 inch threaded adapter. The package includes a tubular microphone clip, a pop screen, foam windshield, and cable securing straps. There are two arm lengths available, this is the shorter one. I use it with a RODE PodMic XLR that weighs 937g. Whilst the boom will take heavier mics above or below the arm, the PodMic mounted horizontally needs the knob next to the microphone to be really tight. I have weekly Zoom or Teams meeting that mean I need to use the keyboard, mic and note pad, and this works. I had thought of buying a RODE PSA+1, but this does the job, and it's so much cheaper.

Would purchase again
What a bargain. It’s about what you expect as far as the item goes but the quality you get from the price of it is incredible, especially when compared to all the other listings that start at double the price. The frame has perfect stability and feels pretty sturdy and it’s easy to move wherever you desire. Although, at this price point there is 2 things I can note that have made me give it 4 stars over 5. The first one is just how it’s designed and it’s that the mic can spin on the ball joint freely left and right, which seems like a slight oversight and something I’d like to lock in place (video attached shows example). The other issue is with the screw that locks the mic in place from moving up or down, and it’s that every few days or so I find myself having to just slightly retighten it so a light touch doesn’t make it drop and face the floor (not drop as in hit the floor, the mic is securely on the arm). All round I don’t regret buying since these are 2 small things that I wouldn’t justify paying the premium prices for.

Can be good - or the springs can be dangerous
Revised review: I've now used this with a much heavier microphone, and replaced the springs - and it's working well. With a heavier microphone, the forces seem to be right - and the balance is there. With only a lightweight mic - it's a catapult. So I'm easing back on my original negative review - and saying sometimes this is good and works first time - but that you might have to modify it (remove some of the springs) in your application. Original review: Watch the Jimmy C video. As he says - remove all the springs - and this thing becomes usable. Somewhere along the way - the springs must have been swapped for ones with a much higher tension (and it seems like no-one cared). The springs have far too high a tension - and that makes the arms quite capable of suddenly scissoring closed with some force on fingers (please be especially careful if you have small children around). It's actually of not-too-bad manufacturing quality - and with the springs removed - the friction locks are sufficient to hold in most positions (say with up to a 500g / 1lb load). Springs are easily disconnected with strong fingers. Upper springs can be fully removed. Lower springs can only easily be disconnected at one end. (I snipped through the hooks on the lower springs - with some high quality spring-wire cutters - rather than do a major disassembly). (this is the large-size 48cm / 19inch version) My previous experience of Amazon Basics has been very good. This rather lets the brand down with poor design and/or ill-considered parts substitutions. If I wasn't in need of using it immediately for a live event - I'd probably return it for something better. As it is, it'll get used until I buy something better.

It worked for at least a year....
It worked for at least a year without any problems then the arm gave up and broke it did have a blue yeti sitting on it. The Windshield was a little bit small for the yeti, but it still worked. All in all it was a great price for what came in the box.

Cost affecting mic stand
This is exactly what I needed to record

Cheap and unstable
I can’t complain that much as it is such a cheap product but that is what it is, cheap. The arm is so stiff and barely moves and the clamp doesn’t hold properly making it always dip from its original place. The pop filter does not hold its shape, constantly flops back down unless u really bend and wind the moveable spring around. Maybe I just got a faulty one but I would consider investing even an extra £5-10 into a better one than buying this.

Decent
Perfect for my blue yeti. Seems sturdy, can be folded out the way when you don’t require your microphone. Clamps to your desk nicely, and doesn’t come loose when moving the arm. For the price, it’s definitely worth it

Soporte económico
Está bien el producto, solo que el material se siente frágil, si quieres algo barato y funcional es buena compra.

The Quick Release Clamp has a plastic handle, so I'm a bit concerned it could break.
I haven’t tried other brands, but in terms of materials I think it’s made entirely of metal except for the Quick Release Clamp, which is plastic. I feel like it might break if I tighten it too much. Overall, it’s good and practical. However, I feel a bit unlucky because the price I paid for it was high (~$24), unlike the current price ($15). for the price, it’s good but not wow. It’s easy to install. Overall, it’s a good deal. I used to think Amazon products would be of poor quality, but they are actually decent.
