I was looking for a way to protect my oak table when having family get togethers. I wanted simple. These are perfect and can slide if needed when passing dishes of food.

Sturdy and great colors

I can't say enough good things about these Trivets for Hot Dishes. They are incredibly durable and have become my countertop's best friend. Not only do they add a touch of boho kitchen decor, but they also excel at keeping my countertops safe from hot pots and pans. A definite five-star addition to my kitchen!

These trivets were a spur of the moment choice. For years I have been tucking pot holders or oven mitts under hot pans or pots that are making their way to the countertop or the table. I hadn’t thought that a trivet was an important investment. After picking these up, I realize that they are functional and fashionable when entertaining. I was impressed by how dense these were and the fact that I could support a heavy pot with one and not feel even a hinting of heat. I have quickly realized that these things are purpose built, rather than the pot holders or oven mitts.The variety of colors is a nice bonus, though if they were just white or black that would not have distracted from the handsome spiraling design of the trivet or how sturdy they feel (surprising for essentially just fabric).I would happily suggest these as a housewarming gift or for someone who has the bad habit of singing counters or ruining table finishes. Highly recommended!

My wife really loves her silly tablecloths, so after using thin potholders for years and not being happy with their level of protection for our table, I decided it was time to upgrade to some trivets and these do the job very well. They're nice and thick so you can put a single one below a cookie sheet if you need to and unless your cookie sheet is really warped, it'll keep any hot metal from touching your table.They definitely are more for pots and pans rather than baking items, however, if you're having say lasagna and have one glass dish, you can easily use 2 of these if you need to ensure your table stays unblemished especially if you have a more heat sensitive varnish.In my household, it really isn't the table I care about (seriously, it's an Ikea table and I have 2 kids who have already damaged it), but it's my wife's table cloths! Yes, they're only vinyl ones, but they have all sorts of designs that fit the season and so if they ever got damaged, she'd not be happy with me or the kids, so basically these are to save those and not the table and they do that quite well!

One would think someone in her 60's would own all sorts of functional trivets by now. Not so! I have one nice wooden one and a collection of sad potholders that doubled as trivets that are to be tossed today. This cotton set is perfect, even matches my everyday tablecloth in neutral shades of cream, beige and rust. The cotton weave is tight and dense, making these trivets almost rigid. This makes for secure heat protection for wood tabletops as well as a vinyl tablecloth. I like that they are space savers and can be stored in my oven mitt drawer.Fabulous value for a item suitable for entertaining as well as everyday.
