Great drone, has many features, its easy to learn to fly and kids love it.
What’s in the box:- Open the box on a table and pull it out carefully as the try inside is double sided and stuff will fall out from the bottom.- The drone is on the top.- In the bottom of the tray are the controller, two batteries, battery charger, charging cable, cell phone clip, manual, 4 extra rotors and a screwdriver.Start up:If you are an experienced “droner” then this section is not for you. If you are new to “droning” then read on…- First insert the batteries into the charger and plug in to see if they need charging, the light on the charger will be on for each battery that is still charging.- Insert a fully charged battery into the drone and place it on a level surface.- The level surface is very important as the drone will calibrate to a level.- Pair the controller and or phone and start flying!.- It makes you feel like a kid when you get the hang of it.Pros:- Once you get the drone to calibrate correctly and trim it (if required) it flies effortlessly.- The headless mode is really useful if you are a newbie to droning and it makes it more intuitive to control the drone. I would caution that you should learn to fly it in normal mode if want to graduate to more advanced drone flying techniques. Also the FPV camera really shines when you fly in regular mode as you see what you need to vs. where ever the drone is pointing.- The free app is full featured, none of the in app promos stuff.- The included app really brings the drone into a different realm, once you get the hang of controlling the drone and use the FPV mode it becomes really fun to fly.- The included two batteries are a huge bonus, it doubles your fly time and the included charger can charge one or two batteries.-The batteries are very good quality and last longer than the advertised time. Also, as soon as one battery is spent, you can charge it while using the other. You will still end up waiting at the end as it takes longer than the battery’s fly time to charge.- This drone is small! It cannot handle breezes, its ideal for flying indoors.- The drone comes with a full set of extra propellers and a screwdriver. Remember the propellers are directional and should be replaced with the correct orientation blades.Cons:-There have to be some right!, The fly time even with both batteries leaves something to be desired. It gives you around 10 – 13 minutes with both batteries. The kids don’t feel satisfied when their turn is over.-Very small drone. You have to remember this is a hobby drone, not one for making Youtube videos of your vacation.Other thoughts:- Its worth mentioning that we already found a bunch of missing stuff using this drone (nerf darts, paper planes and balls that went missing were found on ledges and top of cabinets)- The Syma app is quite good and has a lot of features I have not explored fully yet, we are still mastering the controller. Once we get more insight into the app, I will update this review.I feel this drone was a great buy, the kids are always working on earning time to play with it. The drone has performed well in their hands.I have attached a few pictures of what’s in the box and the drone in action.

Great drone for indoor flying and outdoor flying in light breezes
Note: I may have been compensated for reviewing this product. Please note that my intent is to provide an honest, objective review. This review is for the following:SYMA X22W Mini Drone with Camera Live Video FPV Pocket Drone for Kids and Beginners, RC Quadcopter with App Control, Altitude Hold, 3D Flips, Headless Mode and Bonus Battery, RedPros:-This is a good stable flyer after making any necessary trim adjustments-The drone has a "headless mode" option making it easier for beginners to learn to fly without the confusion frequently experienced with radio control when your aircraft is heading toward the pilot. It is also quite helpful when flying outdoors where it can be difficult to determine which direction your conrols move the drone.-Has an included 720P video camera and WiFi connection to your smartphone (via a free app you can download)-Comes with two batteries allowing more "fun time" than drones that only come with one.-The batteries in this drone are the "tray" style, meaning that they slide directly in and out of the drone and plug in automatically when inserted. No more looking for needle nosed pliers to un-plug batteries. A definite plus!-Best flown indoors ... a definite plus for those of us in northern climates when it is cold outside!-Has permanently attached propeller guards (guards are a must for indoor flying where collisions with objects are likely)-Comes with one complete set of spare propellers.-Comes with a screwdriver to open the transmitter battery compartment.-Can be controlled directly with your smart phone using the available app.Cons:-Rather short battery life ... but not really much different from many drones. I get around 6-7 minutes of flying time when using FPV sparingly.-Marginal for outdoor use. On days with more than a light breeze it is easy to be overcome by the wind and lose control.-The price is a bit on the high side for a drone with the same features.Tips for using:-To install the application on you Android phone, you must allow (in "Settings") installs from "Unknown Sources".-The SYMA GO app needed to link your smartphone app to the drone may be found at the symatoys web site. Look in "Support", then "Application". The QR code in the manual links your browser to the "SYMA GO" application on their web site. There is also a "SYMA FVP" application available as a download, but this is not the link referenced in the manual. -If you want to use your phone to control the drone directly, use the "SYMA GO" application.Syma also offers the "SYMA FPV" application. It has much less clutter on the screen, but cannot control the drone from your phone. If you only want to fly FPV and not control your drone with the phone, this makes for a good alternative.-Start out using the "Headless Mode" to simplify learning the controls. Once you have mastered that mode, you can switch to the standard mode if desired. Headless mode is definitely recommended for outdoor flying.-The drone comes with a High/Low speed control choices. I recommend using the Low speed setting for indoor flying, the High speed setting for outdoor use (helps overcome gusts of wind).-The automatic take-off and landing button is helpful, especially when flying outdoors.-Avoid flying outdoors in any wind stronger than a "gentle breeze". Otherwise, you may find yourself looking up at your drone caught in the top of a tree or worse!-If you need to replace a propeller for any reason, pay close attention to the pitch (direction of slant) to make sure you correctly match the one you are replacing.-These drones are great at collecting hair around the propeller shaft. If you experience strange control results when flying, check for hair or other foreign objects that may be caught in the propellers or around the shaft to the motor.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this drone. I may update this review if anything arises that may change my opinion.** Updated March 26, 2019 **After only about a dozen flights, one of the motors failed. Replacing a motor is not a trivial exercise. The wires for the motors are directly soldered to the main board, they are not plug-in style. I ordered a replacement motor set and had to solder in the new wires. Not trivial! Reassembly of the airframe is also a nightmare. I was never able to get the shell of the drone to completely close around the camera, but is close enough to get the drone working again. Following the repairs, the drone is back in the air. Since only one of the motors failed, it might just be a "fluke" but be aware that for many, this might be a "deal breaker" for this drone. As a result of this issue, I have revised my review from 5 stars to 3.** Updated April 1, 2019 **After the above update, the seller, AukwingUSA contacted me and very promptly sent me a replacement drone at no charge. Simply stellar customer service! Thank you, AukwingUSA! This seller gets a 5 star rating. Thank you AukwingUSA :)
