Kizlyar KK0020 Maximus D2 Russian Made Tactical Knife, Satin, One Size

When I first picked up my knife, my initial impression was "Wow, that is a quality knife." On closer inspection, however, it is clear that the knife I received is not the one pictured on either the Amazon or Kizlyar websites. I contacted Kizlyar's distributor in the USA, who confirmed that my knife appears to be authentic. The following outline the differences between my knife and the prior model.- 3.55mm (0.14") blade width (advertised on Kizlyar's website to be 4-5mm)- Broad, shallow, smooth, nonfunctional jimping- Partial flat grind (reference images on Kizlyar and Amazon websites show partial hollow grind)- "Made in Russia" written below logo- Different "Maximus D2" font than reference images- Did not come with a lanyard on the knife- "Designed by Kizlyar Supreme, Russia" patch on back of sheathDon't get me wrong, I still think this is a great knife; though I am disappointed at the changes I listed—especially the thinner blade, nonfunctional jimping, and flat grind. Despite the downgrades, this knife was still made with attention to craftsmanship. All corners are perfectly rounded and it feels great in the hand. (I should mention that because of this rounding, the spine will definitely not spark a fire-steel as is.) The sheath works and has functional MOLLE webbing, though I think a regular Kydex sheath would have done just as well.

Perfect knife for my uses! It's definitely sharp enough, as I was able to shave my arm hair with it out of the box :D Always gotta test em right? I use it for mostly outdoor "tactical"ish activities. Cutting ropes, etc. I love the feel and weight of it, it's definitely too big for smaller tasks but that's pretty obvious from the dimensions. I love carrying it on me, so handy when you need it. Would highly recommend this! Very sturdy construction
