Knightsbridge IP5G 5G Switch Box - IP66 13A

This is hooked up at the pond. Having remote control is a huge benefit. From what I can gather, doesnt require LOS and works from a fair range. Does however need you to press the button inside box (top right) on initial setup to pair the remote. Seems like a really quality product and it's from a brand with a great reputation. This was only installed today, but I see no reason to have any doubts about its reliabilty. I have 3 way socket version, however the remote is standard and comes with 5 on/off switches as you can get bigger versions

I’m sure everyone has experienced heavy rain, storms, heavy wind this year. I was amazed by this product. It works continually without a problem.I don’t normally write a review on any products but this company deserves a mention. Absolutely brilliant!. I didn’t mention I bought this in 2021!!

I bought this remote control box to control outdoor lights in the garden. It took me sometime to install, once installed the box would not operate. Checked on line instructions which said that the remote is already set up. With a new battery in the red light came on but no power to the outlet terminal- checked with a volt meter - Instructions eventually found on how to 'match the remote to the box, easy operation and cure the problem.

Have used it to control outside garden lights and a pond pump. Does the job well. Box is fitted 15m away and picks up signal without a problem.

Far superior product compared to others made outside of the UK. Strong,reliable,and extremely easy to set up. Will use Knightsbridge’s again, for anything electrical

To minimise time and swearing, cable out this box BEFORE offering it up to the wall. As others have noted, the housing should be larger, as should the connection blocks on the PCB. Cable ends will need to be tinned or be fitted with ferrules to have any chance of making the connections before you die. Despite these poor design decisions, the unit does work, and works well, eventually.

No frills here but well enough made and did the job I wanted. Cheap and cheerful!

The unit itself is well made and comes with grommets and remote control. However you NEED a whole lot of patience to get the cables into the connection holes. There is hardly any room to get the cables into the connectors. If you are using stranded cable you WILL swear a lot!! TIP - get wired up before fitting to wall to give yourself a bit of movement you’ll need it. Also, you need to pair/match the remote to the unit for it to work. Could be better designed for fitting as takes three times longer than it should.
