Great value phone system
I bought this system as I wanted to replace the old Gigaset handset I already owned, with multiple handsets throughout the house, both for receiving calls and as an intercom. Works a treat and also had the bonus of being able to link in my existing handset. We now have five dotted around the house. The new handsets are larger and plastic bodied, whereas the old handset was heavier, being made of metal. However, this system is great value for money, easy to set up and sound is good.

Good quality & sound, but could be easier to use
I'm reviewing this over a year later than purchase. Initially easy to set up. Good sound quality. Slightly complicated to store numbers, but not impossible. It would be even better if: 1. You could enlarge the font on the screen. 2. You could back light the screen to make it easier to see. 3. The batteries lasted longer! I know I've had this a while now, but given that the batteries are rechargeable, I would have thought that only just over a year later, they'd still be going strong. I'm in the position now that if I lift one of the phones off the cradle, it crashes out immediately. I'm about to buy some new batteries to see if improves the situation.

Great performance and value.
Really impressed with these phones. Bought to replace a set of Panasonics which we’d had for several years. The crackling was driving us mad though this may have been the lead to the phone socket! Read lots of reviews and went for these. Delighted. Good sound. Lots of functions and very easy to navigate. Display with its intercom designation an improvement on what we had. Great value and strongly recommend.

Caller ID
Looks good, easy to set up, bright clear display, handset buttons easy to understand and use. The additional handset cradles are a bit light and the handsets fall out quite easily. Answerphone message waiting function not the best in terms of actually knowing there is a message waiting unless you look at the number display on the base unit.BUT - and for us this is a big issue - one of our purchasing needs was Caller ID.It says as part of the product description: ".....Caller Display - Individual ringer melody for internal calls...."Good, we thought. Unfortunately we have had these Gigaset units since August and this feature still won't work. Our very helpful line provider has tried 3 different setup requests to OpenReach - who have three times replied it is on. We have searched online, been through the Help advice countless times and even emailed Gigaset who replied - correctly - that it is not a setting we have to make on the phone. They suggested we ensure we use their wire connected straight to the main wall socket and also asked us to check in their words:"You should also lookup and check the serial number on back or bottom of base that looks like: Axxxxx-Axxxx-AxxxThe 3th part of this number should be L1. The letter L means its produced for GB.If there's no L, it is possible your telephone does not support correct protocol ."Ours is a GB model.They also suggested we try it on someone else's another line nearby - no difference.So, in our 3rd month we still have no solution and all calls merely show "External". Whilst this is obviously our experience and may not be the norm, it is very frustrating and the reason for our 2 stars.

Excellent phones
Really happy. The sound quality is very clear, they were very easy to set up and even better, you only need to populate the phone book once and it transfers to the others ... perfect! The answerphone has a 30 minute message time, which is more than adequate for my needs? They were dispatched quickly and arrived well within the predicted timescales. I would definitely recommend them.

VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED with GIGASET service levels
From high expectations I'm left feeling very disappointed with the service levels offered by Gigaset. I have just taken delivery of a quad set and the information leaflet stated that all handsets contained within the parcel were pre registered however they are not. (3 are 1 is not) . Despite following the instructions to register the 4th handset my attempt was unsuccessful.I called the Gigaset helpline at 10am on Saturday morning to hear a recorded message saying they only operate Monday-Friday! I am away from home Mon-Fri as are many people therefore I would have thought that a company purporting "world class service" would at least give non home workers a Saturday morning option to resolve problems but no. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED with GIGASET.

Ok but some niggles.......
I like these phones but think the supplier has made a mistake. I was sent three phones in a box C430A and one extra handset which is a C430HX. Whilst they are compatible and I will learn to live with it, I now have one phone with completely different rings tones on it. Luckily it will be upstairs so won't matter that much, but I am disappointed that they can't all have the same ringtones. I do agree with other reviewers that the ring tones are a bit on the quiet side. My other gripe is that you can't set the base ringtone the same as the phone, so it all does sound a bit of a mis-match to me. My old Panasonic used to blow the roof off and I could hear it over the vacuum. There is no proper ringtone and they all sound as though you are inside a spaceship. Having said all of that, I do like the phones and the fact that you can have a clock on the display which is useful. I copied over all my entries to the other phones in a jiffy and they are easy to set up. Time will tell, whether I can live with the poor selection of ringtones but I am looking forward to using the phones.
