Movie Maker: The Ultimate Guide to Making Films

We have just heard back from the child that we bought this for as a xmas present. He is delighted with it, as we felt sure he would be having taken a peek inside the box. The box, which serves as clapper board for the 'director' to use is very strong and within this is a whole variety of stuff for the budding film-maker. Whilst being an extremely imaginative set it still leaves room for the child's imagination to work on its own.Would recommend this very strongly for any child who has the slightest interest in either film or theatre.

Lovely concept, great price point, and would've been brilliant, if it weren't for two fatal flaws:1) the lid that serves as a clapper board is very flimsy, and will definitely break after several vigorous "ACTION!!" being called by the director.2) the disc, with 99 sound effects which are all in English on the sleeve (thankfully!) are actually in German on the disc, so it took around 20-30 minutes of faffing on iTunes on Xmas day, trying to rename them all, which sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Could've done without that, but had to do it, otherwise my daughter would always need to carry the disc sleeve around with her ipod to know which sound effect was which.I wouldn't have bothered with it had I known about these two issues.

bought for my 21 year old fiancee who wants to start making short films. it's aimed at kids but was the only book i could find that wasn't about hiring actors. really good basic information for anyone just starting out with some fun props and sound effects. the clapperboard is chalkboard too so will be fun to use in films

bought for a Christmas gift so not yet used , but seems to pack in a lot of info and items to help a young movie maker . Very reasonable price too .

My daughter loved this. Lots of things to do and generated a lot of ideas. Good value for money. Delivered on time in good condition.

This is a really good kit to give to a young boy/girl about 8-12 years of age. It offers all theresources that you need to make a movie(sound effects; storyboards; a clapper board etc).I really recommend this product as a present for young creative children...

This was quite baby-ish. I purchased it for my 12 year old as he loves to make home movies and the props contained were just cardboard cut outs of a few silly glasses etc.. The clapper board container seemed to be the only selling point.

My children had great fun with this book. It can be quite technical so younger children may need some help. The whole family got involved with the movie making. I would definitely recommend this book.
