Black n' Red A5 Soft Cover Journal - Ruled with Numbered Pages

I deliberated for a while as to whether I should purchase this Black n Red notebook, or a similar Rhodia one. In the end, I settled on this one. It's a few pounds cheaper and I'm very happy I made the decision I did. Starting with the cover, I am unsure what it is exactly made from, but it has a pleasant texture and with the contrasting red stitching and elastic looks very aesthetically pleasing. Opening the cover, the first few pages are dedicated to things like your objectives and a contents (I personally don't care about these but I understand some may find them useful). The remainder of the book is just A5 lined paper. It has a margin, though there is no dividing line, only a break in the lines to signify where it is. I personally like this style of margin as it seems less obtrusive. Each page also has a number and an area to fill in the date in the style of " / / ". This date section is small enough than it does not distract you from the rest of the page yet is also very practical if you choose to use it in my opinion. Talking about the paper itself, this is Optik paper and it is amazing. As a fountain pen user, it is easily one of the best papers I have written on. It is very smooth and the nib glides across the paper, almost never bleeding through to the other side of the page. I have also managed to produce some sheen without even trying with a medium nib and Diamine Aurora Borealis (which itself is not overly prone to sheening in my opinion). I would definitely recommend this notebook if only for the quality of the paper alone at this price. The journal also has a "pocket" on the inside back cover where one could store small items etc. which seems to be durable enough for its intended use. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would happily recommend this journal to everyone, especially anyone with a fountain pen!

Perfect size, high quality materials, (soft touch and sturdy too) with nice colours. I have ordered two different sizes with soft cover. The smallest one is absolutely pocket size. I love to use these organisers daily.

Great books use them for work

Bought it to keep track of my gym routine rather than sorting it out on my phone. Flexible so it fits in my rucksack better, not too thick so it's lightweight and page's are a decent enough quality. The pages are bound to the book so they don't have that ring bound wire and weird tearaway pull out thing going on with them (I don't know the proper term) which is a bonus so they don't rip out as easily.

good journal

I work in an office and wanted a good quality notebook that would look professional enough for meetings etc without breaking the bank. I did look at Torro but it was way too expensive and not what I was after. This is perfect! Literally just opened it but the quality of both the book and the pages is great and it really looks the part. It does come shrink wrapped and (I'm guessing due to this packaging) has a slight powder-like dust on the top of the leather. This was easily removed with an ever-so-slightly damp cloth so not enough to demote to four stars. I will be buying this again!!!

Although the quality of the item is excellent , they are still just a little bit to expensive.

Whilst other people (hipsters?) are going for leather bound, modular journals that cost more than Japan's national debt, RnB, provide this simple, nifty little notebook, softbound with a classy red elastic and stitching, complete a simple card wallet on the inside cover and not much else. A case of bang per buck vs all fur coat. Recommended. And no, I haven't tried it with a fountain pen to see if the paper bleeds o_O
