No fuss, good value, simple ding dong bell
It is fairly lightweight but sounds out strongly which is what you want. You simply add a 9 volt battery and attach two wires and a bell push and off you go. Separating the two halves to fit the battery was the hardest bit of fitting it. I would say it is cheap and cheerful and very good value for money.

Ideal replacement for unreliable battery system!
This was used as a delivery doorbell for our warehouse we use to have a battery system with a digital bell which worked OK but the batteries kept running out etc and it was un realiable. So we decided to install a good old fashioned hard wired system as you can't go wrong with this kind of installation.Being an electrician for over 20 years can't say there is anything wrong with this product, even cheaper than the electrical wholesaler so that's a bonus.I was very surprised that everything included In the box arrived as the supplier or amazon sent the item in a box with no tape on it just a flimsy cardboard flap.It was open when Amazon delivered it but lucky nothing missing.I did not use the included bell wire as I have reels of the stuff so can't comment on the length of the wire however it did not look long as it was a small coil.I'm not sure if that length would serve a generic house?I used an enclosure to install the transformer in definitely worth doing that as the covers for the transformer are not the best and you don't want them popping off if its In touching range. The push well its a push it will probably last a couple of years before it needs replacing but that's common for the south coast anyway. The bell not the loudest however we are using this in a warehouse and not a small hallway so unfair to saying anything bad about It on that point. The sound is your typical nan's house sound and brings back memories of standing on the doorstep of nan's house pressing the bell :-)We may need to replace it for something a bit louder but as I say that's due to where we have it installed.Pros:Simple kitComes with everything you needNice feel to pushCons:Not sure cable would of been long enough (Did not use anyway)Not many clips in box (did not use anyway)Packaging needs to be more secureCovers on transformer not the best so could make the input side unsafe would definitely recommend a din rail enclosure.Overall very happy with the kit.

Needs a bell transformer
Compact bell, not as loud as old model, eats 9volt batteries when used with illuminated bell push, approx 12hrs! and flat😩 now using byron Bell Transformer and no problems.

Great sounding door chime
Very pleased with this door chime. It is perfect for my flat - not too loud and a very pleasant, mellow classic (not electronic but mechanical) ‘ding-dong’ sound producing, neat-looking, small, white box.Installing was very easy, as it replaced and old chime. Wires come in at the back but you can drill or melt a little hole with a small heated up screwdriver in the side of it, so will fit any place. If you have big house and you install the chime by the front door you may not hear it a couple of floors up!

Ding Dong - not Dong Ding
I found that there is no screws at all in this box, so not any wall fixing or cable clips were included at all.Although i can do it myself i feel that this should have been clearer in package, or in the description here., as the instruction stated they were included. This bell kit is really a lot smaller than i initially though, however it still functions as well and can hear it normally.I would say that be aware of how the bell is wired, as if you hear the bell sound when it is installed, and it doesn't sound ding-dong, but as a dong-ding, then you need to swap the connection on the bell wires - as it is playing the first chime and second chimes the wrong way round - this is not clear either what connection is the first 'ding' then the second 'dong' etc.The wire is really fiddly to cut and separate, and i wish they were a push terminal that a simple screw fit but you get what you pay for i suppose. There transformer is an 8v transformer - however if you wish you can leave this out and simply follow instructions to use a 9V square battery instead, which may be better suited for most homes if not able to connect a power line to a transformer etc.I hop that the bell is OK for the weather as it doesn't look like it will be 'weatherproof, i hop it is.
