I had eleven screens to replace and have been looking for a product that would allow me to do so economically and look great at the same time. I found this product and after much research, decided to move forward with this purchase. The installation, although straight forward, was a little more complicated as every single piece had to be measured and cut to size as no window was identical to any other. But with patience, it can be accomplished. I had one issue and that was the spline that came with the product simply did not fit. I called MetroScreenworks and spoke with David E., who listened to my concern and promptly sent out a different spline that worked perfectly. The product and the company are excellent to work with and I highly recommend.

The product worked flawlessly. We were quoted a ridiculous amount to have a home improvement company screen in our 7’ by 16’ front porch. I was able to do the job for a fraction of the cost using these tracks ($2K vs $17k) including the cost of some new power tools. Some information that helped me: there is a sticker on every section of track. I soaked the area in a bucket of water overnight and the sticker peeled right off. I used Goo Gone to clean off any glue that remained. I cut the track using a power miter saw. I needed to mount the tracks onto concrete so I used plastic anchors to help hold the screws in place. Had no problems getting the tracks over the screw heads provided using a rubber mallet. The product ships with .175 spine that worked perfectly for me. It was snug but it worked like it should. Screen is not included but I was able to find the extra large height and width no see-um screen that I needed on-line.

I purchased this system to screen in 9' x 9' porch area. Does the job well, but three things to be careful of. 1) The installation they recommend simply didn't work for me. Screws are supposed to be installed and the track snaps over the heads. Good luck with that. Screw heads were too large and the track wouldn't go over them. I just drilled holes and surface mounted the track. 2) The spline that came with it was the wrong size. No way it would go into the track without tearing the screen. They shipped .175 diameter, I went to the local box store and bought .160, which is the correct size. If you purchase this item make sure they ship .160. 3) Each stick has a product ID sticker at the end. The sticker is VERY difficult to remove. I had to use acetone and a plastic putty knife to get it off. The good news is that for the price, you cannot beat this system. Very low profile, and attractive. Also be aware that YOU MUST PURCHASE THE SCREENING SEPARATELY.
