Excellent performance and value for money
I bought two 18TB units to store my video and photo archives safely. Based on the specs and previous highly positive experiences with SSD external OWC drives, I decided to test this much slower but reliable solution to create cheaper backup versions that I can replicate with modest investments.After a quick reformatting in APFS, I transferred several TB of content. As expected, the operation took some time but was completed smoothly and effortlessly. 18TB represents space for future needs, accessible at a decent speed even though inferior to an average SSD. Realistically, I will need to access these files only a few times yearly, so there is no need for a faster solution.If you own a computer with USB C port, my recommendation is to get a USB A-B to USB C cable to avoid any risk during bulky transfers due to inadvertently touching the wires and dropping the connection to the external unit. And I know, the USB A-B is a really weird one, but it works nicely on this unit.
