Wow!I have had the joint-genie in my watch list on Amazon for longer than I care to recall, but to be perfectly honest, the purchase price has always put me off. £140 for a seemingly simple kit always seemed exorbitant, and I always managed to talk myself out of committing.However, having just acquired the joint-genie professional kit, and having just put the kit to work with a new project, I really wish I had acquired this tool ages ago. It is terrific...period. It is so easy to use and also very accurate. I viewed the joints I completed yesterday on the project, and they are just perfect - and very strong indeed.I am just a very amateur woodworker with no particular skills, but I have to say the joint-genie is going to swiftly make me look like a professional...I hope! Seriously though, if you are like me, and just want to make some nice things with joints that are not going to fail, then do not hesitate. This kit really is a wonder, and I couldn't be more pleased. Highly recommended.

It is quite pricey! The product is well manufactured and appears to be quite accurate. My one grouse is that the kit does not contain sufficient spacers to bring the centreline of the dowel holes to the centre of a two inch thick piece of timber. For the dowelling jig to cover this thickness, I had to manufacture my own spacers, (using "penny" washers is just not accurate enough!), in order to cover what I consider to be within the range of standard timber thicknesses. For the price I would have expected the width adjustment to cover at least this. I would also would have preferred an indented line at each end of the jig showing the centreline of the dowel holes.

Brilliant, yes it costs a bit but it is extremely accurate and well thought out. If you are joining together lots of wood or panels that require complete reproduceable accuracy this is the jig.......enough said

Awesome piece of kit. Straight out of the box I built a small cabinet carcase in under 1 hour. It's square and the joints are as flush as you can get as well as strong. This is a well engineered addition to my workshop and it will get used a lot. I've built my own doweling jigs and tried a couple of the commercial ones over the years - the Joint-Genie wins hands down! If you want to put projects together quickly and accurately without going to the trouble of cutting mortise and tenons this is the kit for you!

Easy to use, 100% accurate - just marvellous. Bit expensive but you just have to swallow that

I was really impressed with the Joint Genie. My first effort, an end to end joint with 2 plywood boards, wasn't that accurate, but I realised I hadn't clamped it properly, so had a second try and got a perfect joint. As long as you pay attention when you line it up and clamp it firmly, you can't really go wrong.

I did good work with this. The only slight of problem is it does not centre automatically and if what you are working on is slightly out it does mean you have to work off one face and remember it. This is not a big problem and otherwise it worked well and was well made.

The reason I purchased this is I've borrowed one and found it easy to use and very accurate.Only downside is cost,not a lot for £140
