works great with an LG G2 phone
I have only use this device on a vga monitor, but it works fantastic. There is no setup or downloading anything. No other expense, just plug it into the slim/charging port and into the vga plug, turn on the monitor and whatever is on your phone screen is on the monitor in landscape format. It doesn't fill the entire screen in height, but does in width. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this to anyone.Skip

VGA does not work as advertised with hp chromebook 11
Tried this adapter with a brand new HP Chromebook 11 and multiple VGA projectors and monitors to no avail. Was never able to get any picture on the projectors, but could occasionally get an extremely wavy and fuzzy picture (which kept cutting out) on one of the monitors. Disappointing.

Works Great...if you have said devices to use it with
I came across this adapter at a demo at an event on campus. It was interesting enough that I would like to purchase and try it. The thought of being able to run presentations off my Nexus 5 in case if I forget it my laptop sounds great.I ordered the device through the Amazon Mobile app after visiting the Slimport website and found out that the nexus 5 was supported. On their website, you would assume all devices will work with the adapter as they list the supported devices. What was missing was information on which adapter and PORTS support what device.I have tested the Nexus 5 with the VGA port on a Dell LCD monitor and a Casio projector which resulted in no picture display. Thankfully, the projector also had an HDMI input which allowed me to get the adapter to display my homescreen. So a heads up - read the description carefully and the notes listed above to make sure your device is supported. Like this section below -"HDMI Compatible with HP Chromebook 11, Nexus 4, 7 and newer LG SmartPhones.VGA Compatible with HP Chromebook 11, LG Optimus G Pro & LG G2 SmartPhones only "This was not shown on the SlimPort Website or specified at all. The packaging that came with the adapter had a sticker that says "Works with LG Optimus G Pro and G2".I would expect a VGA port to be able to work with all devices regardless but that does not seem the case. So you might be better off with the SlimPort HDMI adapter instead. It seems like a great product only with the devices the adapter actually supports.

VGA side won't play movies!!
I use this device with my LG G Pad 8.3, and the HDMI side works really well, but the VGA side won't play movies because of some copyright block they have set up with Android. So I was able to get the title screen of the movie to show up on screen, but it would not play the movie. After inquiring as to why the VGA side wouldn't play movies, I was told about the android movie block. I use this for watching movies, and one of the places i watch movies, I only have access to a VGA monitor, so I was unhappy with this aspect of the device, but I was pleased that the HDMI side worked.

It does not have screw holes to secure VGA.
Otherwise is works well. Both HDMI and VGA.

Another Disappointed HP Chromebook Customer
Had hi hopes this adapter would work as advertised, on both Amazon and the manufacturers website. As other's have stated, it does NOT work. I tried numerous monitors/projectors and cables, and only saw an image a couple of times and it did not last. The HP Chromebook is great, but this adapter being one of the only supposed VGA adapters leaves a BIG gap in the accessory market. Hopefully HP will pump out an official one, but for now avoid this one and other Analogix adapters for use with your HP Chromebook 11.

VGA doesn't work with HP Chromebook 11
I have a brand new (Feb. 2014) HP Chromebook 11 and tried this adapter to connect to both a VGA projector and monitor, and had the same issue with both : An image comes through but it is very fuzzy and wavy. The projector was an Epson. The monitor a Dell. Also, on the Dell the resolution was really low with top and bottom black borders. On both the image would blink-out for half a second too, about every 5 seconds. I bought it to be prepared to give a presentation using my Chromebook, using a host's projector that will likely be old-style and only equipped with a VGA input. Now, the HDMI conversion worked fine, to the Epson (which had an HDMI input port), and also to my Panasonic flat screen TV. But most projectors still have VGA, as do most monitors, and when presenting as a visitor you usually use a third party's projector and hence have no control over whether it will have a HDMI input. As such the Chromebook 11 is NOT suited for presenters on the go. I'm not sure why HP installed the slimport rather than just an HDMI out. Using slimport you are guaranteed the need to buy an adapter .. I'm not aware of any projector, monitor, or flat screen that has a slimport input. Also I tried to daisy chain an HDMI to VGA converter on the tail end, but both the Epson and monitor didn't even pick up a signal this way (probably too many intervening conversions).

disapointing product
Picture on monitor flickered on and off,, making viewing impossible. I am returning slim port. Very disappointing to find out product did not meet expectations.
