A brilliant and highly useful book
Though I was a bit skeptical (as I always tend to be when I have to read a Self-help or self-motivation books) before receiving the book, I found it very down to earth and relatable as I started reading through it.My congratulations to the author, who is an Entrepreneur, hardly 33 years old, for producing such a well-thought out, neatly structured, lucidly written book, which totally reflects his convictions, self-confidence and self-actualization. The book is very lively to read from start to end.The author has made clear right from the beginning that the thrust of the book is to do a thorough self-evaluation to know our priorities in life; find ways and means to get more joy and fulfillment in what we do. He has also not missed out the consequences that may affect our other stakes in life when we go about with our prime quest.Unlike the typical western thinking, thankfully, the author has not linked 'success' to money-making as the predominant factor.I noticed the book has shared some of the ideas of "Start With Why", but there are intersecting additions on how innovation, intuition and passion come into picture. They are quite interesting and informative.I enjoyed the Quiz sessions (under Time, Relationship etc) and assessed myself as to where I stand! Nice. Good clarity. The explanative discussions on the scores of the quiz were quite to the point and very balanced.I also liked the way the author has added 'circle of no control' into the Stephen Covey's 'circle of control' and 'circle of concern'! That's the indication of practical spirituality in the author. The ideas of 4-quadrants (Existential, delusional, Implementer and Phoenix) of success are all well developed and original. Very practical indeed. The curve of delusion is perhaps the reason for the failure of 90% of startups. The Implementer - Manager - Leader chapter is also a good one -- could be an eye opener for many. if only they are willing to open their eyes!Well! Till the end, it was an engaging book to read. I also enjoyed "It's Pneumatics da" and such other anecdotes! On the flip side, I felt some of the diagrams in the book could have been clearer and better readable. Though building the narratives based on personal experiences made the book interesting and lively, I could not avoid the thought that the book was a shade more auto-biographical.Overall, the book has a lot to offer to serious readers who want to correctly assess their lives vis-a-vis their dreams, aspirations and real capabilities, and move forward taking proactive steps to achieve what brings happiness and fulfilment in their lives.

"Be You Now" by Sagar Makwana is a self-help book that focuses on discovering one's true self and finding purpose in life. The book explains how societal conditioning shapes an individual's personality and forces them to follow a set pattern for success. The author believes that each individual has unique core strengths and must find their own path to success. The book is written in a step-by-step process, which guides the readers in planning their life's objectives, depending on their priorities and preferences. Sagar, an entrepreneur himself, shares instances from his own life, making the content more relatable. One of the highlights of the book is the chapter on "Three Returns." The author emphasizes that it is crucial to have a balance in seeking financial returns, as the financial returns provide peace and happiness only when we get emotional and true social returns along with it. Concentrating solely on financial returns may lead to losing out on emotional returns and receiving fake social returns. This concept encourages the reader to re-evaluate their priorities and focus on achieving a well-rounded life. The book is not just like another self-help book. It has quizzes, illustrations, and diagrams that help the reader understand the problem statement and eliminate confusion. The examples provided in the book are relatable, making it easy for the reader to apply the concepts to their own life.It is recommended to read the book in solitude to ensure that the reader can fully digest all the topics. Also, taking time while reading and not hurrying is advised. The author's request to read the examples thoroughly is essential, as it helps in understanding the facts and applying them to real-life situations. In conclusion, "Be You Now" by Sagar Makwana is a highly recommended self-help book for those who are on the path of finding their life purpose.
