A very useful, energy and money saving appliance
I purchased this after getting a 6lt one as I am a one man band and it fittis the bill to a treat so far as needing a smaller cooker for me.Just cooked a small gammon joint for 10 min and let it rest overnight, took it out and then reduced the stock( made of small onion, garlic paste, honey, white wine, and finished off with whole grain dijon mustard and a dash of port to a thick sirup to pore over the top to pore over after grilling the scored rind)Now to use it to make a small stock from bird carcass left overs!!Can't fault it for its quality and ease of use and is far superior to what my mother used 50 years ago in Africa and think that the younger generation will benefit from energy saving cooking even a moroccan lamb dish served in a tagine but prepared in this cooker will save you a lot of time and money!

Well pleased
As a long time pressure cooker user I needed a replacement for a couple of cookers that had provided sterling service but were in need of replacement plastic parts. As these parts are not available from the manufacturers I hoped the Von Shef would be the same size so that I could use the trivet/basket & seal with it (you don't get a trivet or a basket with the Von Shef, nor a particularly good instruction book!). Having used my new pressure cooker for some weeks I can report that it is working extremely well. Prestige & Tower parts do fit it & in my opinion it is better made than my old pans & represents exceptional value for money.

so pleased with my purchase
I bought this cooker in march and still works really well..Due to the heavy base food doesn't get stick/burn at all. If you fill the food/water to certain level it won't be pouring down while cooking it. Plenty of room to cook for the whole family, so pleased with my purchase, no issues so far. Food cooks really well & less than the expected time. Thinking of ordering another one in near future.. I've given the 4 star because of the delivery charges just, other than that an excellent product. Thanks xx

Great compact cooker works well.
Been looking for small pressure cooker that is made from stainless steel (to work on induction hob) rather than aluminium and this fits the bill.It is simple, well-made and works very well so I will be using nearly daily and will be the most effective cookware product that I use.Only concern is getting replacement gaskets as that is the only part that may wear out and I may buy another cooker as backup.

I am reasonably happy with the pressure cooker but
I am reasonably happy with the pressure cooker but. When i put it on to boil i had to put pressure on the lid to get the gasket to seal, so it would build up pressure. Once done, i was worried because the pressure valve didn't seem to be releasing steam. So i tapped it and it worked ok. I gave it a time to cook. Took it off the heat. Left it for couple minutes and released the steam with valve. Started to work ok then liquid and steam squirted out. Quickly tightened valve. Had to keep open and close valve till completely released. But all the watery liquid and steam comes out under the handle. Which is very hard to clean out. The food cooked ok. Perhaps if i'd had the 6ltr one it would've been better because of it's depth. I didn't over fill it. In fact it was filled lower than the bottom one, of the two lines. Give me the old ones any day. Never had a problem. So long messing about, could've cooked in a saucepan quicker.

Impossible to use as instructions are so poor.
Dear Sirs,Bitterly disappointed. The instructions are so poorly translated into English that it is impossible to understand, so much so that I have not even been able to try it out. Before the item had been delivered I requested certain information from the Seller. It did not arrive - just a note to say that they were requesting information from the manufacturer (which never came) so, as you can imagine, I was not too hopeful of any help from them. The body of the cooker is well made, but the pressure weight is made of some sort of plastic, very cheap-looking and nothing like the usual solidly built metal weight. The pressures to use are in some other terminology (Kpa???) and I simply cannot understand the instructions regarding the use of the system at all.All my friends and family who have seen either the cooker and instructions - or just the instructions - have insisted that I write to you (Amazon) to request that this item be allowed for return and refund.I was just about to do so when your "Review" email arrived.I wish I had waited until I had saved up some more money and bought a traditional British pressure cooker. Can you please intercede and help me with this ?Yours in desperation.June B Selves (Mrs)

I'm very happy with my pressure cooker
I'm very happy with my pressure cooker. It is pretty, very efficient, easy to clean and the right size for me. In the past I bought a couple of very expensive and large sizes pressure cookers and none was good, but this one is a true germ. I 100% recommend it. Foods like meat and beans cook very quickly, which means low energy bills for me. Love it.

Great little pressure cooker!
I bought this because liked the idea of a frying pan that happens to be a pressure cooker as well! The first time I used it I burned the food on the base, simply because I hadn't been watching the little red button after I put the lid on, and hadn't realised that it had popped up as I didn't know how high it should be. It cleaned very well and now I know to get the food nice and hot pop on the lid and within a very short space of time the button is up to signify that the pressure has been reached. Turn the heat down and after the alloted time turn the heat off, and when the button goes down I have a tasty meal redy in half the time!
